VG2. It's not that bad. It takes some getting use to when carrying in pants that are stiff as it take getting use to when sitting, but it's so minimal that its not difficult to deal with. It's perfect when standing up and walking though. Draws nice as well.

my EDC is a benchmade auto
Used to be a big fan of Kershaw, and while they are alright for what you pay for, they just don't compare to benchmade.

I agree. The blade finish wears off after sawing through cartilage, bone, and tendons, and it sometimes slips out of my hand when it's covered in blood

are you looking for something light to carry in a pack? Or something utilitarian for car camping?

I've got one in my CHU that the unit bought while we were over here... I'll have to dig through it and get you the name.

Personally I would just buy some packages of aquamira tablets at REI, throw two of them in the bottle and let it sit for 15 minutes and you are set.
If the water is a little more suspect, check out the Sawyer Point One filter (it is a squeeze filter)
IMO pump filters are totally unnecessary for single person use and are a PITA to maintain and clean. And I am leery of any kit that requires batteries to work, although the MIOX does work great
