New guys in particular seem to get dazzled by all kinds of bull**** name dropping and actually think "combat patches" mean anything (BTW there is no such thing as a combat patch)
Just like how having an MA or PHD doesn't necessarily mean you are a genius
This is False.
Me being in Ranger Bat and rocking my scrolls means I'm muuch better than you.
On a side note. Does ANYone need side plates? : / I've come across lots of stuff while clearing cif, that I honestly have no idea what to do with. lmk

RIP isnt just a school, you pass that and you get to batt and you have to be better then everyone else. Schools or selections ARE the gauge higher ups have to use to correctly hand out the right mission to the right unit. How did Gen Ike on D-Day decide who was going to climb the cliffs at point du hoc? Well without these school or assessments to measure the units what would you do? Flip a coin? There is some flaws in your theory my friend.
Josh, 2 things, I want your plates. And are you balling next friday?

But going with that, is it that they're missing the common sense to shut up and learn and ask questions where appropriate? Or they just think they're hot **** and get stomped the **** out by others who'd rather not help out the cocky kid?

18Xs are ****ing bred to pass selection. A buddy of mine that was 18x from airborne's days at sopc consisted of nothing but PT, classes, and Landnav for 3 and a half months before he went.
That said.. selection is only the start of it, as they make there way through the q a lot of people that came with him as 18x couldn't keep up with the classes because they lacked a foundation in basic army knowledge. Lots failed the WLC type school they had to do first or the small unit tactics school. These were where the salty guys or former 11bangs excelled.

ok. they are side plates. our local pm me.
the 18xs.
they stick together in sfas. because they have all been together for months now. They dont learn anything else about the army. They NEED to find a couple e-5's or some salty spcs that have been in a minute and ****ing learn everything they can. A GREAT % of them will fail Small unit tactics in the Q. They will fail their patrols. It's not their fault they dont know? None of us knew wtf we were doing until someone taught us.
Like I said though, They are physical beasts. Some of them were prior service and they helped the new guys out a lot and that was awesome of them. I just find it unfair that they go straight to Q and have a high % to fail it.

Would you say they fail that **** in Q because they aren't that bright/slow learners/slow to pick up on new things? Is the stuff you need to know, taught to you, albeit quickly, during Q?

There's some **** you just HAVE to know about the military to succeed in Q. It's just **** you'd of picked up in the Infantry, but they didn't have that opportunity.

It's a good price, someone will pick em up. I guess if you make it through the Q you really won't need extra ones.
