Supair Arenas

Why has NPPL not adopted these?

I understand the current dimensions are not correct, however that is not a hard thing to adjust.

i wonder how many people take shots to the face or something from paintballs that make it over the top of the sideline netting

Pretty sure there is a field in SD that has the arena thing like that. In my opinion NPPL has all their gear to set up field. So until it goes bad, or the actually cost of switching becomes cheaper than what they are using now then they'll stick with the old way.

They are actually taller than you think. And paintball fly over nets all the time. Bouncing off bunkers and coming over the nets isn't uncommon. But it's not like a ball is being fired directly over the net and hitting someone at full velocity.

i know paintballs fly over the net all the time..... which is how i know its unsafe

ex: paintball flies over the netting at local field and breaks on my cheek below my eye.... kinda hurt just saying. lol

You asked in the tourney talk section of the forums already. The netting is not high enough and the fields are expensive. Why adopt an entire new field setup instead of just change maybe a bunker or two every season?

1. Cost. 2. spectator safety. NPPL has grandstands. 3. NPPL events are often hosted in densely populated areas. Im surprised cities like HB continue to allow NPPL to hose events there. (probably cuz NPPL is pretty good about policing up the mess and stopping people from shooting up the rest of the city) and 4. you have to keep pumps constantly running to keep the sides standing, which also makes it kind of hard to watch the game, like the vuvuzelas during world cup (the soccer one, not PSP).

What would be the reason to adopt those arenas? I don't see any point

There is no point, except for looking like we play in a big ball room at McDonald's.
