Wanted - Dead Eyes
Anyone have any dead eBlade eyes? I've fixed one set. I think I can reliably fix them now. If I can find the dead ones, I'll order a batch of the sensors.

Where're you finding the sensors? Last I looked they were a discontinued item that wasn't in production anymore.

Special order from the UK... $20 handling fee + cost of items. Will order approximately 20-30 units. It appears as though they are just special order.

Interesting. IIRC, weren't the stock eyes soldered to a tiny PCB and the wires soldered to that? I suppose if you really wanted to, you could try soldering directly to the eye itself and just bending the wires, but that sounds kinda sketchy.

There was someone on pbn a year or two ago selling eyes that he was making. He wasn't using the board u are speaking of but the eyes worked perfectly. Ill get a detailed pic of it up once I get home.

The current eyes have four pins that the mount with. I did some searching adn found a pdf of the part description - the measurements match the current senors and the pinout is the same. Should be a simple de-solder and resolder job. I've soldered many small electronic items. replacing eyes should be a piece of cake. Easier if I can get dead eyes to work with though...

Haven't looked through there. I did find a source in Canada, without the $20 processing fee though. Couple cents cheaper too - same company as above, different branch.

There is a local company (to me So Cali) that can get them. I have about 25 of them so I know I can get them. They are kinda cheap about $4 but there is a $50 min order and about 2 week leadtime. Yes,it is simple to de solder and re solder to the original PCB. I have done 3 or 4 also. He says there are 1600 available. The key thing is to conformal coat your board with a real conformal coat or finger nail polish to keep the leads from shorting out when it gets any moisture on the board!! Been working in mine for years.

Sorry for the delay, but here, this is what I meant. No board whatsoever, just the wires, the eye, and some sort of epoxy he used to keep it together.
Works perfect, i just cant remember right now what member did it.

Hey Buki,
This sensor unit will work with the E2 board for Cockers? Where can you find these? I might be purchasing a couple off of these off of you within the near future. I'm located in So Cal as well. I'll add you to my buddy list.
Which do you think is better: Breakbeam or Reflective sensor? I'm having difficulty finding the eye covers for the Breakbeam eyes.
