I've been teching people's Axes with the knowledge I've gotten from your videos Simon. They weren't real difficult issues, but since I had a better understanding of the workings of the gun, I was able to hypothesize what was wrong even better.

I had some creeping issues with a mini that i had a couple of months ago, and i didnt have the special tools to fix the mini reg. Now that the new reg is serviceable i would love to see hot it is done.

A+++ for making the gun completely serviceable.

In the electronics video you say that if you remove the battery for 15 seconds the settings will factory reset. I know that 15 seconds is certainly long enough to change a battery, but if maybe you dropped the battery and had to search for it, or maybe even if your battery is COMPLETELY dead, the board would factory reset and you'd have to reset everything when it may be terribly inconvenient to do so. I'm hoping you misspoke on that one. My axe is still in the mail so I can't check for myself yet.

The special tool you're referring to is a 3mm nut driver. Boss has videos of how to do this on his youtube, BossPaintball. Don't try taking it apart if you're not confident in your abilities. They don't really have replacement parts for relays at the moment.

Nope he speaks the truth. The boards don't have any memory without a constant battery connection. To make it worse, it can be anywhere from 1-15 seconds for it to factory reset. I changed the battery for it a couple weeks ago, and it did a factory reset, I couldn't have taken more then like 4 seconds. Yeah it sucks if you're settings are waaaay different then stock factory settings, and it happens at the field in between games.

I've played paintball for something like 8 years now and only owned one gun for 5 of those years. It was an '03 AKA Viking that I used nearly every weekend for those years. I'm selling it this week so I can get a new Axe.
Simon, you and your videos as well as a friend's recommendation have gotten me to sell my gun and try out the Axe as a replacement. I can't wait until this weekend to try it out and see how it feels in my big *** hands. I'm talking like from thumb to pinky, with my hand stretched out on a table, about an 11 inch span.

In the axe disassembly video Simon says that in another video he shows how easy it is to take apart and lubricate the poppet. Anyone have a link to that video, I can't seem to find it. Thank you.

EDIT: Never mind. Used a mini video to figure it out. Was very easy. Used this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAc5b...eature=related

If Simon has a general maintenance video, I'm sure people would appreciate it in this thread.

Mike

Nothing special, Axe on full auto 20bps, just some left over paint. Not sure if my hopper was on a setting able to keep up or not but I was still happy with how it shot. No breaks.
