HB locals willing to help out some East Coasters during NPPL HB?
Hey fellow PBN on the other coast. Some friends and I are making our way to LA on April 12th weekend, and catching NPPL HB on Sunday will be one of things on the list.
Not having ever been to LA, I come to my online family to see if there are any locals willing to help out some East coasters in finding must go to places to check out, dine, party, and decent surfs near HB event.
Throw out any ideas, you have no idea how idea how much this would help us not going into a city blind. I'm very much obliged for making new friends and buying drinks!

Being a local in So Cal all my life I'm not a fan of LA.
But if you're in HB to catch the event, right on the strip there are some decent places to eat and check out.
I'm a fan of Slaters 50/50
It can be expensive depending. I usually get the 1lb burger that's 50% beef and 50% bacon... with all the toppings you're looking at $20 burger... but they have smaller patties with smaller prices.
They also have 100+ beers on tap.
As far as what to see. You're in So Cal on the beach... that's what we're here for.

You gotta checkout the foodtruck scene! Just follow them on Twitter. Kogi BBQ and Rancho a Go Go are my favorites! As for surf, you gotta surf at Trestles in San Clemente, one of the more consistent surf spots in So Cal!

I live two miles from the event and have lived in Hb all of my life, please pm me if you have any questions, or need recommendations. I would love to help!
Also The wedge (in Newport Beach) doesn't have waves until the beginning of summer, your best bet if you want to surf is probably the Pier, or the cliffs. The pier is convenient, especially if you are renting a board since it is right there, but my favorite break is at the cliffs, which is a spot about a mile or so north of the pier. Its a lot less crowded too. Hope this helps!

Slaters is a must do
BJs is good
In-n-out is a must do
Tilted kilt, i think they are in legal trouble arent they? I thought they had to close down a few spots.
there is a new place in town called Dames and Games. Topless sports bar!!
The tourist things are cool...Hollywood if you never been is decent.
If you are staying in HB, you will have plenty to do there without having to go very far.

Surf spots in HB would be north side or south side of the pier. Check surfline to see what's shaping best. Lots of shops and ish on Main Street that's fun to walk through (all rather expensive IMO) but can't really go wrong on the beach. Parking wise park the back streets like 7th street and you save $ for later. If you have access to a longboard (skateboard) they are super fun to cruise and move up and down the beach. Idk what else are you interested in but that's my beach ideas haha. GL! West coast!

actually, our apt earlier in the week will be around Hollywood and Vine. We may consider relocating to house in Palos Verdes/Rolling Hills Estates come Sunday and on.
I'll be in Long Beach Sat to watch Formula Drift on the Long Beach GP track, but are there any decent party bars or spots in Huntington? If not, we will just roll back to where we were living.
