USER MANUAL

FAQ:
Q: How does the loading system sense/work?
A: The marker loads based on trigger pulls and the breech break beam eye sensor. When the trigger is pulled the loader will begin feeding. When the breech sees a ball the loader will stop spinning. The infrared loader speed sensor controls the speed of the loader and can speed up or slow it down based on rate of fire. When the eyes are turned off the speed sensor is used to stop the loader.

Q: Is the loading system hard on paint?
A: In 4 months of prototype testing we did not once experience the loading system break paint. Even when using fragile Ultra Evil. Since the loader stops feeding as soon and the ball is sensed in the breech it is very gentle on the paintballs

Q: Is it tournament legal
A: Yes the marker is equipped with a tournament lock should you want to use it in a tournament or at a field that requires certain firing modes. The firing modes can also be adjusted to fit most current tournament series.

Q: Can you show how it comes apart?
A: Here is a video of how easy the toolless disassembly is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Emv-gn-n3VI

Q: When will the D*fender be available
A: The D*fender is available now in the US. Please speak to your local shop or Empire Rep for specific info about other regions.

Hello and greetings from germany....

At first i must say - i love the dfender and it is hard to wait.

I have seen how easy it is to remove the rail, if you want to clean the Dfender.

Here are my questions:

1. From which material is the rail?

2. If i have an original Eotech with an Tiberius Arms Riser on this rail, i am little afraid that the rail will not be fix and strong enough to hold that.

Sorry my english is not the best.

Can you use a ninja 77ci tank with it?

Is the front grip metal? Can the front grip be removed or adjusted?

Thanks! I am very excited to buy one!

The defender has been designed to accept even large diameter 88ci tanks so yes an Ninja 77ci will fit. In fact I have actually used a Ninja 77ci on one in testing. There is plenty of clearance.

The Front grip is made of Glass filled nylon. Yes it can be removed.

Is the barrel front threaded in traditional "smart parts" thread or is it the new Empire front threaded, like on the resurrection?

Thanks for the answers!

Opps, looks like I did not read...so its 2 one piece barrels? Standard and Apex?

Is the front grip mounted at a rail, so if i removed it - i can use the rail for an other front grip..?

No screws and no tools needed, just the push button lock on the top rail. That's it.

Could you please explain how this works? More specifically, what methods of adjustment are available to lock to meet the different event requirements (BPS, Ramp timing, etc)

The board is programmable through the trigger much like other high end LED boards. You don't even need to take the gun apart just hold the trigger and turn it on and you are in programming mode. In programming mode you can set to firing mode to Semi, Ramp, Burst, Auto or Select Fire. So if you were at a field that only allows semi here you would just set to Semi.

You can set the rate of fire from programming mode as well through the same technique. It allows 8-20bps for semi and 8-15bps for all other modes (this is due to ASTM standards. All "enhanced" modes must legally be capped at 15 or less).

You also have access to ramp start shots (# of shots before enhanced modes kick in; 3-12 shots) and ramp sustain(Rate of fire that must be maintained to stay in enhanced mode; 1-12bps)

When you are done changing settings simply remove the engine from the gun (the circuit board will be attached) and flip the tournament lock dip switch. Once locked programming mode may not be accessed.

so I picked one up yesterday, got home, gassed it up and it started leaking out of the location circled in the pic.

ASA has some wobble, something I can fix or do I have to call my shop / Empire support?

Right Above the circle you should see a spot to drop an allen key into. You can try to tighten that down.
