Hi TwichyfingerIII,
Here is the math on that calculation. This is based on the 3man division.
Entry is $150
Over the last 4 years, 3man teams have been averaging 5 cases per event.
Prelims 3 cases x $55 ea = $165
Finals 2 cases x $45 ea = $90
Total is $405
Divided by 3 Players equals $135 per player.
Of course this is the average, some teams shoot more, some teams shoot less but this has been the average over the last 4 years.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you

Guys the average may not be acceptable for all people. I know a team that played the 5 man and made it through to the finals on 5 cases. That is not what one should expect but they did it. It is probably around 5-6 cases, maybe a little less, maybe a little more. What is a fact is that the prizes are certainly worth admission. Paintball teams are lucky to break even upon WINNING an event, you have to take that in to consideration. Not everyone is going to win. But I would say that for the teams that do win, this prize purse is certainly impressive.

Also realize that the estimation is for the other leagues too. So the difference in price is what matters, the difference will stay the same. Wether its based on 3 cases through the Prelims or 30.

As far as you saying the fact sheet is not true, I would be happy to dig out the last 4 years of tracking showing that the average is 5 cases in the 3man. I am sure if I go through the trouble of digging this all out, that I would get a public apology. But I think you are totally missing the point. The point was that for $13 more, over the other league, you get 62% more prizes than that league. If you like, we can double it to 10 cases, you would be paying $26 more. The point was that with the MAPL you will get 62% more prizes for only a few dollars more. I understand that you play for 301 Allstars and you play at PAP. I am going to assume you are going to play that league. Best of luck to you and your team this season, but please do not come in here and bash this league.

ive been playing the GPL for a long time and i love the old GPL. Last MAPL honestly the prizes werent worth it. criticism, take it or leave it. Now with ego11's on the line, worth it? yes.
and as for the stalker info calling out 301 Allstars and PAP that to me seems quite unprofessional. But hey, thats just me.

Thank you for the critcism. It is always welcomed to hear the postivie and negatives. As for stalker info, there is nothing hidden here. I am also not sure what part is considered unprofessional. I wished you luck with PAP's new league. I have known Hartman for years and respect him and his company. I have never had anything bad to say of him, so I have never said anything unprofessional.
As I said before, I will repeat it again,

Regardless of how much you pay to play no matter what at the end of the day the prizes make up for it... big MAPL for really listening to what the players wanted and making paintball fun for everyone
