Just checked our schedule and only 6 prelim games and there are 10 teams in D5? Its all good though, little upset we don't get to play our friends from ABP in the prelims

If im not mistaken they take the top 4 teams after prelims and they move onto the playoffs. And once there #1 plays #4 AND #2 plays #3 in a best 2 out of 3 to move onto the finals, and the same thing in the finals! That is the way I think it is done, please correct me if im wrong.

That should be right, just odd that only 6 games. I guess it'll be cheaper paint wise, since you should have plenty left for semis after only 6 games but just odd.

Agreed! It is odd that we are only playing 6 prelim games, but that will def help on the paint side of things!

This is a bit odd... There are two teams out of ABP and you don't play either of us. Haha. We play ABP Last Rights though. See you guys on the podium!

Yeah me and one other teammate went down to ABP this past Sunday and played with some of the guys from ABP Last Rights. They were pretty cool guys, and we were hopping to get to play them in the prelims this Sunday. Yeah, will see you guys on the podium!

Could be to cut cost down by not using as much paint but deff wish we would of known this so we wouldn't of rostered 8!

It is usually 8 prelims, not sure why this change. Maybe they will take more in to playoff rounds this way.

The way they did it last year is you only play one team each in the prelims and then it is race to 2 in the finals rounds

No more Race to 2 in CFOA. Going back to the way it was a few years ago. Bodies count... those alive, those dead, flag pulls, flag hangs and Wins also = points. POints at the end of the day determine who moves on or who wins the tourney! It will be confusing if you havent played this before but it will be fun. Just get rules from staff or make sure you attend the captains meeting in the morning.
As far as amount of games, I believe CFOA follows the APPA/PSP standard as far as how many teams = how many prelims, and how the semi and final games are done. How many move on and who plays who in finals, etc.

Here is the scoring I found in the rules. I did not know they had changed to this untill now. Should be interesting.
5. Scoring
5.1. Game/Point Score
5.1.1. Scoring for 5-Man player games will be conducted on a 100 point system and will be
awarded as follows:
5.1.1.1. A team will be awarded 10 points for every player on the opposing team eliminated
5.1.1.2. A team will be awarded 5 points for every player on such team not eliminated
5.1.1.3. A team will be awarded 10 points if it pulls the center flag first; and
5.1.1.4. A team will be awarded 15 points when the flag is hung on its opponents flag station
5.1.1.5. Points are awarded at the conclusion of the game by the head score keeper
5.1.1.6. Clerical or Mathmatical error may be corrected at any time prior to the start of the
next round.
