Hmm..

Is .50 cal worth an investment?

I might be trading my gear for some 50 cal gear and just wanted to know if its a good idea.

Given that this is one of the slowest / least posted on forums on what is supposed to be the premier Paintball player website, and .50 has been out now for, what 18 months?, and the economy is still in the can, I don't think .50 is going anyway but the clearance rack. You may want to pick up something cheap for posterity.

if you dont play strictly speedball then go for it, it is a fun alternative that actually has a couple advantages in the woods. but i wouldnt plan on using it on a speedball feild.

i wouldn't plan on using it at all since most places don't carry 50 cal paint. which means you have to order in advance and that also means you have to plan out the days you go to the field more than a week in advance, and if you can't go... then that paint is kaka.

I have a spyder advancer with an up-ed regulator and spyder rapid loader.
I love it! and everyone is right its not the optimal speedball gun but all other coarses its good for. especially for woods lol! love hiting kids through the cracks makes me laugh!

I don't think it is a good idea. YeloSno (like usual) has a very good point. If you're like me and you like to buy your paint at the field, then you are going to be SOL. But if you're fine with ordering your paint online, then go for it. I don't think .50 cal is as bad as everyone says it is.
