That is awesome! I'm trying to put together a CG team down here in San Diego. Only problem is that the CG is so small as it is. If anyone down in SD wants to get together and play though, lmk

Join the marines with an 03 contract, in boot camP you can try out for the team. If you make it you get four years of paid paintball! Awesome!

So if you are in the DC area in January 2012 I will be putting a official military team together open all services.

I'm not too far from DC, few hours drive. I think my old boss from Skirmish works at PEV's, I'll have to check...she may be able to give your idea a home.

Well I like the way this topic has brought up the fact that the marines have a paintball team. Well I have a meeting with a industry executive next week that has been informed about the idea of a all military paintball team with the possibility of a intra-service or division paintball league.

That would be pretty awesome to have intra-service teams that played each other on different skill levels/leagues.

Service teams is all I want. Intramurals would be even better. But a service team to play in international leagues (psp/nppl/etc..), would be great as a recruiting tool and could really be sold as such

Hello everyone I hope noone for got about this idea and I hope that you guys are talking about this to all of your friends that are in the military that play paintball. Even though I am about to deploy I have still been talking to many people and I have things on hold until I return to start a Armed Forces Team open to all the Branches. So keep the forum going and dont let it die.

Superiors caught on and have already frozen the program (no Nationals etc for them, even though they won a bye through Cup and have already paid). I hope you got some good guidelines from the law office because I'd hate to see your program get hurt the same way.

I'm going to clear this issue up a bit since I'm reading about it and I'm on the Academy team. What you said is true about the Angel sponsorship, we did try to get a sponsorship from them. We contacted them and they said they were interested in sponsoring a rising team since we on the woodsball side were starting to actively participate in scenario games, winning MVT at the first game we went to as the Navy Team. We only had a draft of the contract and it was never signed.
However, he is what you probably don't know. The speedball side had already signed a contract with MacDev and had been receiving the benefits of said sponsorships such as discounts on their markers, clothing, etc and they have had this for sometime, I'm guessing at least 2 years.
Now what happened is that the person who runs the speedball team doesn't really like what we do, and when he got wind of what we were trying to do, he went to our officer representative to basically taddle on us, but somehow in the process, he also revealed that the speedball team had a signed contract with MacDev, while we only had a draft and had not signed anything.
So this is how it ended after all of that. Only one person on the woodsball team got in trouble for other reasons that are slightly related, but he did not get in trouble for the sponsorship thing. The people in charge of the speedball team did get into a lot of trouble plus they are under investigation for inappropriate use of funds as the club was in a lot of debt for reasons unknown to me and for buying items such as markers, tanks, etc for discounted prices (through the sponsorship deal and other methods) and reselling (or attempting to resell since we are not as stupid as he thinks) for higher prices so he can make money off of it to send the speedball team to tournments without any of the benefits reaching the rest of the club.

Barrel Roll - Not yet, but looks like that batch is well on their way.
BigT - There's always two sides to a story. I'm not going to say too much about the players on your speedball side. I've seen their character on and off the field by all accounts it hasn't been pretty. I got the story from a speedball player I've known over seven years. Just FYI - We also abused our woodsballers and we could get away with it. We traveled the country, boldly and visibly wore the brand name, and got all the attention. What exactly do ya'll do? You listed that you're up and coming, but I've never gotten wind of it and I follow this stuff actively.
As far as your infighting and tattle tailing, it doesn't really matter. You guys got busted for actively soliciting a sponsorship and it burned your program. I know the USAFA guys are rocking sponsored gear, but it wasn't solicited. Their program is running, yours is not. I suggest you contact them directly and learn how they went about it the right way. Now get your chin in and learn how to play politics, because that stuff does not go away.

BTW to be on topic, a joint AF/Marine team will be traveling to PALS Thailand (with some of the only Okinawan paintball players). We'll see how official we can get out this way.

Marine Team One placed third in NPPL Chicago and should be in the top 3 overall for the season when the points get tallied up.
