Could always contact MWRs round the country about using their fields to host the league events. Then go on from there.

Hey Omar 1982, whats up bro!

I used to play with Omar1982 at Fort Drum and we were trying to get a team started thee but we all had to PCS. The MWR thre was helping some, but I am at Fort Hood now and can tell you that MWR's helping will vary depending on where you are. here at Fort Hood, the MWR won't help start a team either just because it is very political. I think the right idea is to get the guy in charge of the entire MWR program involved so as to bridge the gap between all the bases.

Well Uncle Sam has halted my production once again. I was told last night that I am tasked to deploy to Iraq this summer. This dream will not drive it just means that it will give me more time to put this together as a huge team.

Sorry to hear about the speed bump.

Just a heads up for when you're back at it, the Naval Academy might be losing their paintball program for two years because a woodsballer attempted to solicit sponsorship from Angel. Superiors caught on and have already frozen the program (no Nationals etc for them, even though they won a bye through Cup and have already paid). I hope you got some good guidelines from the law office because I'd hate to see your program get hurt the same way.

Last night I received a call from 7th element, the company that sponsors the 2nd ID paintball team. The told me how team was able to get sponsored. I will take what he told me and use it to my advantage. Even though I am deploying this summer I will still be working on this idea. So if you are in the DC area in January 2012 I will be putting a official military team together open all services.

Some National Guard units have they're own teams, but that only being spoken since I'm national guard, not sure about active. Like someone said you can always check the MWR.

I have a guy in my squadron right now who I had no idea played paintball. The army team beat out his AF team to take that spot at world cup. More info to come from this, but soon ill be getting in touch with the owner of 7th Element I hope. My guy here says hes very close with him

I know that the MWR has a marketing department that can assist with getting sponsors. This deployment messed up my plans for this year but I'm not worried it will happen. So like I said before if you live in the DC area or know any good ballers that are in the military and are in the area tell them to keep their eye out for for a military team to start next year for sure.

Doing some more research about paintball and the military I found something very interesting. In 2005 a staff sergeant in the air force stationed in Texas set up the first military paintball league. I was surprised when I found that, the article stated that it was open to all services but I didn't hear about it. All the proceeds went to private nonprofit companies on the base. I am going to try to get into contact with the guy who set that up.

The first ever Military Paintball League tournament will take place at Sheppard Air Force Base TX on the 5th and 6th of November. Staff Sergeant Zane Hughes is organizing this non-profit league to give military paintball teams their own tournament series in which they can compete amongst themselves for large prize packages without having to spend an entire months pay. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Youth Sports Program with the remainder being donated to the bases different non profit private organizations.

Base vs base would be awesome. Just need local POCs. If it were regional it would be even easier. The teams may have to pay out of pocket but at least most events would be within driving distance
