Is the Extreme Rage ER3 Paintball Marker good for a small operation?

Price wise probably but do not think they will stand up in the long run. I would get a package deal like BT-4 or Tipp 98 for longevity.

If you are running less than 20 units maybe for about a year with bi-weekly tear downs.
ERC has issues:
ASA connection to the body likes to leak
Re-cocking issues in extreme weather conditions
Lock up when they chop paintballs and have to be disassembled to clean.
Feednecks break off from the body
Just a tid bit as we tried 10 for about 2 months before they were completely used beyond repair.

We have 60 Tippman 98 customs that we have used for rentals for 3 years, just now having to change detents. Good gun, not alot of work required on them. Also Tippman has there 98 custom E-Grips, so that gives you options for 3-burst, full auto, and semi auto.

I know some fields in CA have two rental options. One is a tippmann 98 while the other is an PE ETEK of some sort. Odviously there is a price difference for rental between the two.

We have been using Piranha/er3s for the last 3 years now and we have 2 of 115 that are broken beyond repair. The feedneck is a weak point as stated but its not that bad, we probably have one break about once every 2 weeks. The Blue hammer Oring causes about 90% of the shooting problems. They are great markers and VERY easy to fix. I can show anyone how to break one down and repair in it 5 minutes, not the same with a tippmann or similar model.

I should add that this was during April our peak month where we rent the guns 6 times per week non stop till mid June. Our Bt's and 98's are sold after 1 year of use as well.

i've also herd you can clean 98's by putting them in a bucket of water firing them a few times and then shooting them dry. not sure if it's true or not but maybe someone on here has done this before.

ThanX guys!
I was looking for an alternative to the tip/BT since everybody has them.

I have an ER3 that I use personally...
I would not recommend them for rental use, because for it to work without chopping, you HAVE to get the electronic Hopper..
Do NOT think of using the automatic firing with a cheap gravity loader, you will end up with chopped balls and a gooey mess dripping out of the gun..
The are very easy to field strip though, one pin and it all comes out...
I would not deviate from the Tippmann 98 customs for rentals..

You dont want to shoot them in the water, you will make a mess, but yes essentially you can clean them with a brush and a tap. But if you do this you may want to oil and test fire before you rack em, and again the next day before you hand them out. You also may want to check them for rust on such things as the spring and other small pieces.
