For those creating their own code or who are adventurous.
I've posted the source code for the rMod firmware that I wrote to replace the factory firmware on the Pandora board.
What is on git should compile. I can put up more directions if anyone tries. Honestly at this point I need to get a USBasp if I wanted to program my boards. Parallel ports to program with?
Several things I never mentioned about the code:
- stands for Robert's Mod.
- it was actually 1/2 msec per pull on the last release I did. Never updated the guide. woops
- it's actually debouncing the ball. Anotherwords when a ball breaks the beam it starts the timer. If ball bounces back up and beam reconnects the timer resets. This repeats till the ball stays in place long enough.
- settings get saved in three different places and are cross checked on bootup. I was determined to not recreate the same issue as stock.
My timing showed on a Halo B the balls didn't bounce till about the last 5 or so. I recall recording 62 bounces once on the last ball , not necessarily 62 msec.
Why did I stop?
I had achieved what I wanted to do. Fix the stock code that kept forgetting it's settings ( Apparently someone forgot to read the errata on the chip that runs the Pandora
I wanted to do more and honestly needed a better board. The new J4 Torque board comes the closest to what I did and still do want.
I got really depressed about the state of this sport when people started asking for cheater firmware.
I see people trying to recreate code. Hopefully this help.
With the new rules I really don't think cheat codes would help people much.
Friends have talked me into playing again after a 5 year break.
