Turned on my fave rock station and got blasted with a song (AC/DC) that immediately sent me back to playing this game when I was a teen back in dem 90s and I thought, "no games like that now".
a racing a game if you wanted it to be and in my case that is what I started to do straight away (yes its true
) and I got as far as half the race before the time was up and I was raging until I realised killing zombies and the other opponents gave points and time.
Basically the game let my imagination loose and I spent a lot of time just trashing zoms in the best way possible and once I got interested in the other maps (omg more maps!) I decided to play the game and complete each race but ****ing hell was it hard at times.
I remember getting the massive tipper truck and if you got a straight line and an opponent in front of you, its pretty much game over for them, even the toughest opponents were KO'd by this uber vehicle and that includes myself lol.
The NPC opponents were unreal, a pain in the *** to be honest and I loved it.
The zombie factor WAS (and still is) fun, especially the spring boost where you immediately head for the most crowded area and got 5 minutes or more of time boost by slaughtering them all.
My mum was worried about the manic laugh I developed from inventing ever new and brilliant ways to kill the zombies. I pushed them up hills and dropped them off cliffs for extra bonuses, i did massive jumps onto them and then fell onto a different platform and splattered more.
Now why the **** dont they create a game like this anymore? its all about straight racer games, all out war in GTA or simple "oh look at me" games with flash cars....the replay value of Carmageddon was unreal and looking at it on YouTube (Carmageddon 2) I wanted to play it!
Plus the music was kick ***! Introduced me to a fair few rock n roll bands.
ANyone else feel the same?
