The LFS has Axolotl's which I've never seen before. They're awesome looking but I'm not sure of the legalities of owning them in fl/ga or where ever the AF sends me for that matter.

I wish they were easier to maintain, I'd love to have one
I'm pretty content with the other fish list though, minus the lobsters. That fire eel looks pretty cool. I wonder if fine/medium gravel is adequate for him.

Yeah, good idea.
Any other oddballs or cool fish I should look into? I feel like I'm missing out since I really only look at liveaquaria.

Those links are awesome. Thank you! That's the info I was looking for
Any of you guys have specific favorites? It's a 180g community tank, semi aggressive and peaceful only.
I'm worried the fire eel might bully the Bichirs and vice versa. I cant find much info sadly, should I risk it?
This may be a stupid question, but will fish that are raised (from juveniles) together be as prone to fighting/bullying as fish that are introduced as adults? I'm, honestly, not sure if these guys are retarded or not.

I never thought I'd get so into aquariums. It really is quite a fascinating hobby. I've learned so much about the behavior and habits of numerous fish in so little time

I built the stand for my 55 just based on common sense. Making a box isn't too hard, and you can buy paneling at home depot fairly cheap

Making a box isn't hard, making a box hold 1000+lbs isn't.

Datnoids. Get big though. All the odd balls i am into get big and are usually mean.
Climbing perch are pretty cool as well as leaf fish. For a small fish I like badis badis

This.
In my opinion stands over 55g should be metal.

Datnoids are the right size for my setup, but they are pretty aggressive. Most of my current oddballs get to 12ish" but are semi aggressive with most people saying they are pretty peaceful.

I just got everything put together on my new 55
I'm running the filters without media right now. The water is slightly murky, but I figure filter media will help that. I'm mainly trying to get the contaminants and chlorine out with the water conditioner the LFS gave me.

What kind of water conditioner are you using?
