Also can I put any loaches or is my tank too small.

Do you have any active tanks? If you're starting from scratch, getting a tank cycled should last a month or two before you can start putting fish in. Once you begin to put fish in, only put a few in every week or two. This way the biological filtration is able to keep up with the increased bioload.

Sorry for the confusion, that first part was meant for the guy who wanted a fish that ate feeder fish.
And when cycling the tank, the best advice ever given: Find a different hobby for awhile. It took about six weeks for our 14g to cycle. We used fish food as a source of ammonia and StressZyme. Bacterial bloom started about two or three days after adding some decorations from another cycled tank. I'd suggest buying a little filter bag to fill with fish food, put it in a spot with good circulation, and wait. The ammonia skyrockets after a few days.

My emerald crabs always attack me when I see them. They'll come to the glass and start raising their claws like, "come at me bro". It's damn funny

You can find cichlids of either region in basically any size. There is no "africans don't get as big" or anything like that. Africans you need to have very heavy filtration for the most part because you will need to overstock it slightly to spread out aggression.
Loaches will be a no if you do africans, they are aggressive. You can basically keep synodontis or a smaller pleco as far as catfish goes.

Why would I have to cycle for a month if I put all the bacteria in, get the ammonia and PH levels right?

to make sure your tank can handle the amount of ammonia and nitrites and nitrates your fish WILL create. when you cycle the tank, there's enough BB "beneficial Bacteria" in the tank to handle the fish

Congratulations, you made a dumb stocking decision and got lucky? Theres always the exception that turns out okay but generally it doesnt, so why advpcate for it? I had a festivum that killed freakin everything it could, but I would never call them agressive fish in general

there's no getting it right by the 2nd day.....your water will be instantly "OK" for fish when you put the declorinator (PRIME) in the water. but your filters will not. after 2 days, if you put fish it. they will most likely die. and then rot. and then you have just begun the cruelest way to cycle your tank.....CONGRATS.... now you are an animal abuser.

I put fish in my 10 gallon the day after. They're still alive.
Fish dont qualify to be "animal abused" in florida

Don't ask for advice if you're gonna just try to rebut it with your own misinformation. You got lucky with the 10 gallon, also most of the smaller species of fish are more hardy than cichlids, so you can cycle tanks with them in it. If you think you know what you're doing then go ahead, but don't ask for peoples advice if you're not ready to take it

How am I abusing animals? I have done nothing. I'll be back in a few weeks with pictures of my thriving tank, that did not need a year of cycling before I can put a fish in.
