Question for your wholesalers?

So after geting my dealership application from a major distributer I noticed they require a $750 dollar purchase on "accessories" (not to include markers or paint).

Well this puts me in a pickle as I have no use or need for any accessories - as I need paint only.

Is this the normal course of dealing with such distributers? All I need access to is paint as I will not being running any retail front.

Is it worth the extra cost to get access to paint at wholesale or am I better off just ordering a few pallets through a retailer?

Thanks in advance!

this is a bit confusing. are you saying you're attempting to open a business account w/a major distributer for discounts on paint for a team or similar only?

It sounds to me like the $750 minimum is doing exactly what it is designed to do: Filter out "applicants" who are not really dealers, which it sounds like you are not.

Sorry for the misunderstanding... I'm operating a field only and am not selling anything aside from paint on the retail side.

I'm asking if these kinds of stipulations are normal to get access to their wholesale prices?

If so, I understand how the policy can be used to filter out individuals and not businesses.

Thanks!

Contact your rep and ask them to waive that order requirement. They shouldn't have a problem with that, once they understand you're a field and won't be selling accessories.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'm not against ordering some odd accessories, but really have no need.

Nothing wrong with asking I suppose.

Even you are only a field you will still need other items such as oil, tank orings, spring kits, gun oring kits, barrel bags, masks, replacement lens, small pod packs, small pods, barrel swbs/cleaners, chronos and the list goes on. You can rack up$750 pretty quickly.

I think he means he's just a field. sounds like no gear. just paint and field supplies.

Honestly, there is little value in accessories, by the time you sell ALL of what you've ordered your left holding the bag most of the time. So much of that stuff just sits in the case or on a shelf most of the time.

try paintball discounters. When I had my field going, they were real good about getting me what I need. Didn't make me buy anything I really didn't want/need. Plus I never got screwed over on any of my orders.

Sometimes with NPS(Kee Action now) I would order my paint on a Monday for the following weekend(very small field). Should have only been 3 day shipping and I wouldn't get my paint until the following week. My sales rep would be a dick when I would call and ask him what was up with that. I've tried switching sales rep, but they gave me some BS excuss way they couldn't.

From my experience, if you are a small field, like it sounds, smaller companies actually treat you better.

not speaking in anybody's defense but, i would think if you pressed the issue, you may have gotten what you wanted. did you get a second opinion? like speak with more than one person about this? the squeeky gear gets the oil

there were some people that left kee last year. maybe one of them was richard

I am a field only as well. Find a company you want to do business with and explain whats up. Give them all the other stuff they want, business license, tax id, ect. Once you are up and running (and you are legit) you will have plenty of companies who will want to do business with you.

I think Dye dropped the minimum order a few years ago. When I talked with them and explained we were a field only they had no problem with us making small orders.

Well i would say order them. Impulse buys are always good and it's not like they have a shelve life

Of course they have a shelf life. Things de-value so quickly now. company's constantly change their products so older accessories don't fit.
I have tons of stuff that I ordered when things were hot, that I cant give away now.
But if you are a field, you will need field accessories. Barrel socks, lenses, chronos, and the such. you should be able to pile those things on top of a pallet of paint to prove you are not just trying to order paint at cost for your self.
