Looking at a used Cadillac cts for around $9k. Only real car in my price range that I have one across that I really like. Just curious if they are known to be reliable and not money pits. Want decent mileage, safe, drives nice, and comfortable. It will be used to tax port photo clients fairly often, so I need a car that is in this category.

So we're buying a house around the end of the year. Owning a house requires maintenance. Maintenance requires stuff. Sometimes big stuff.
Which kind of makes me want to get a truck. What are you guys' thoughts on the ecoboost f-1****ty's?
We also have a boat (not running, go figure lol) that'll need to be towed, hopefully. We had an envoy that we towed and went on the beach with, but it wasn't made for going anywhere other than pavement, so we scrapped it when it blew the transfer case and a diff. I was planning on just buying a junker f150 of chevy for dirt cheap originally, but the eco-boost f150's, some of the guys at work have them and average 22-23 around town, compared with the focus ST I was going to get, around 25-26.

I'm not saying they're wrong, but I find it hard to believe they're averaging over 20 in town with an f150

Find a ford powerstroke turbo diesel or a cummins. I call major bs on 22-23 around town. Maybe 22-23 mixed driving.

Meh. I wouldn't have believed it without seeing it. He babied it, obviously. No interest in a diesel truck. I don't want a 250/2500, it's too big to DD.

Probably same **** been asked by me and a million others, but best car I can get for approximately $4,500.
"requirements"
Would like 28+ mpg highway driving.
4 cylinders
manual
Good A/C
Easy to repair yourself
not a minivan, hopefully faster than my minivan.
has tires on it
Was sort of looking for a diesel one, but I found this.

Anything else? I actually had a 95' prizm once, although not manual and was kind of a lemon when I got it.
I'm still driving the van, I don't need anything immediately, I'd just rather not drive this minivan anymore. I know about the common choices, but nearly all of them are either ridiculous looking, or have all sorts of "upgrades" if you could call them that. Was wondering if there is anything out there I'm not aware of.

I really don't give a **** about body damage, as long as there isn't copious amounts of rust which isn't exactly a problem in Phoenix.

Dude that's your problem , get a Chevy prism you need the manual they move quick once you run some slick 50 through them . Did you run slick 50 in your 95?

I did the hacksaw mod and removed the top part of the vehicle and any steel I thought was unnecessary, and took out all the seats and drove it while sitting on a spongebob stepstool.

For something to be considered a "hot hatch", does it need to be FWD? Or is a Golf R a hot hatch too? What non FWD cars are hot hatches?

Have 3500 max. First Car.
was looking at http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/3624655422.html possibly.
Got guy down to 3500, could probably get him lower. Good idea, or future headache in repairs?
