The Wolf/Wolf hybrid Thread
I know someone else on here has a wolf hybrid.
Anyways, I have a wolf hybrid. We got her around 5 months, and her name is Yoko. Her dad is the wolf and her mom is a husky. She has 3 siblings - one sister, and two brothers. One brother apparently is white and black like her mom.
The first day we got her
Her behaviour is so good. She never does anything bad. I can give her a bone and take it from her anytime, or take it from her with my mouth (I could but I don't, thats gross) and it would be fine.. I wouldn't be nervous doing it either. I have a little terrier and I wouldn't even try to take his bone cause I know I'd get bit. The only thing is, is that she doesn't really like humans. She's never attacked but she just keeps away, its probably the wolf in her. She loves other dogs though. She also has a very hierarchical mentality. About the bone - I can take it from her, but if my dog goes near it she gets up and goes to it, even if he isn't going for it she'll do it. He use to try to take it from her, but then she jumped on him and put her mouth around his neck and now he doens't try it anymore lol.

Yeah she looks like that when she wants to play. I'll be on the computer (thats where I was when I took the picture) and she'll come upstairs just to play. If I say hi to her and I don't get off the chair, she'll just leave cause she knows I wont play with her lol.

I don't know about the laws in the U.S but I'm pretty sure you could own a full wolf in Canada. IMO banning any type of dog (or wolf, but pure-bred pitbulls for example) is stupid - its not about the type of dog but their behaviour/training.
We thought Yoko was going to be a handful but we hardly did anything to train her... there was almost nothing we had to do (except for tricks and stuff). We even wasted our money on obedience school... it did nothing/nothing for her lol. She's a well behaved dog... most of the time. Last night my dad had some left over beef marinating on the counter while we were eating and she put her two front paws on the counter and was sniffing it. My mom just said "Hey!" and she got down and came over to us with her tail wagging (trying to suck up) and she tried kissing me to apologize... lol.
Yoko is about a year and a half old now. Shes underweight by alot.... shes 40 something pounds and shes supposed to be 90 pounds full grown. We had her on a raw meat/dry food mixed diet. Then we switched her over to cooked beef/chicken and dry food mixed. Before with the raw meat she was getting alot of protein and hardly any fat, so thats why we switched her over.

that is a beautiful dog, especially those eyes. The black round them only highlights em more.
Wish I could get a wolf hybrid but it's too warm down here for them.

Badass dog for sure. Some friends of mine used to have a wolf-german shepherd mix. His mom was wolf-shepherd and his dad was a wolf. He was a beast but a very laid back and lovable dog.

Yeah, I love the colour of her eyes. People have told me she looks like shes wearing make, or her eyes look "egyptian".
If you really want a wolf hybrid and are afraid about the climate, you could always get a hybrid that is mixed with a Red Wolf - their closely related to coyotes.
The best thing about a wolf hybrid is that they still have the "pack mentality". Even though Yoko won't let my other dog take her bone, she'll always let him eat and drink first, even from her own dish, and after hes done is when she'll eat. Unless shes really hungry and theres meat in her dish; then its her's. The best part about it is that she recognizes that were higher up on the hierarchy then she is, so she follows directions well. I live in a neighbourhood with a path that leads into a forest type area. I take Yoko there and I let her off the leash and she'll run around the forest but stay near, and if I call her she'll come running. One time I let her off and she was sniffing someone on the frozen river, so I went over to look at it and it was a half eaten deer leg. Just the leg, no carcass. So there must be wild wolves or something around my neighbourhood. Another time I let her off the leash and she ran towards something. I lost her cause it was dark and then I heard a girl scream lol. I called her name and about a minute later she came back. I didn't hear her I just turned around and she was there.

I had a Canadian wolf- Siberian husky mix I'll put some pix of on here later. He ended up getting into one of my palm trees and I didn't know about it and he ended dying from the toxins they Produce.
Also did you actually let him eat that raw meat because I was told not to do that because it CAN make them aggressive.

How much did he weigh? I'm sorry to hear man, that really sucks.
We use to feed her raw meat patties made for animals. They were BMO which means it had bones, meat, and organs all in it (and vegetables). Alot of people feed their pets raw meat, theres a thread in this section on it too. But I think thats just a stereotype, all dogs behave in different ways. The only time she gets aggressive is when we play. She never gives up... just comes back for more and more each time I push her away and she's so strong and not even full grown yet. But when I make it clear play time is over she'll stop and calm down.
My mom brought home her new collar that we ordered awhile ago, today. Its a black leather one with spikes lol... she looks like a little bad *** now. I still prefer her not wearing her collar, thats why in alot of the pictures she isn't wearing one. Her neck doesnt look so constrained it so I keep it off unless we go outside for walks or we go to the dog park.

This is her staring at my other dog
This is her new collar
