But both a het and a typhoon were lost to egg bound. First of the season.
Two were beat up semi bad and had dropped tails.
The rest I don't know, but fecals for the collection have been clean for the last year and none of these animals have been exposed to anything that I know of . None the less; Going to be pulling fecals on the affected boxes.
So typical breeding stuff to be expected but affecting a single project.
Video I uploaded to google video back in the day. I uploaded it before google video even went live just as it was first starting. Noticed a bar on youtube today saying I had GV videos out there and if I wanted to migrate them. So I did. This was my first ball python. Got him when I was 7 years old. We had him for over 16 years before he died. He was probably around 20 years old based on his size when we got him. I used to ride my bike around town as a kid with him around my neck. I know it was stupid, but whatever.
He would only ever eat medium rats or smaller. He normally ate once a month and would never eat in the breading season. Usually ate 6 or so small/medium rats at a time.

Dustin- you should pre-kill your feeders, if you still have snakes that is. A buddy of mine didnt do that, he had a rat bite his snake and peel a grip of skin off of it.

I feed 100% frozen thawed now. Couldn't afford live anymore. It took about 1-2 months to get them all eating F/T.
I have over 300 rats in the freezer. Averaging about a $1.50 each shipped from rodent pro including pup, weened, small, medium, and large. Local shop prices start just under $3 for pup rats and large rats are $5.75. Live or frozen same price.

Bob Clark is producing some dwarf Burmese pythons this year. A little steep at $750, but I may not be able to resist. Gonna swing by his shop when they hatch and check them out.

and i will never be able to own one as long as i live here.
with the lacy act coming in, even species that were legal here i can't get because i can't transport them across state lines such as the yellow annies, and now they want to add all boa constrictors to the list... I've always been a python fan but i liked the giants, never been a big fan of balls, i find them neat just not my cup of tea.
I've wanted a retic since i was small, i even had an opportunity to buy a bat eater a few years back for around 700-800(breeder i met through racing was going to give me friends price on one of the babies) before the florida ban went through, but i wanted to wait till i was more financially stable to buy anything. then the laws started passing...
speaking of burms are the wackjobs on redtailboa.net still firmly believing there is a disease called burmese python disease that only kills burms and acts just like a RI?

I'm not a fan of the Retics so much. Great animals, but can be a handful. I like that burms get big but are very gentile with handling. I like keeping balls because they don't take up a ton of room like burms, and there are some amazing looking morphs and combos for balls. Not nearly as many burm morphs.

I'm getting ready to build Nala's final enclosure. The 40gal breeder is almost getting too small for my liking.

if the retics didn't get that ban i think within the next 10 years or so some of the retic morphs could of gotten interesting, a few years back they were finding multiple new morphs every year.
I like burms, but there is just something about retics. oh well i'll never have one here. funny things about the law i can buy a crocodile monitor no questions asked, but i can't buy a nile monitor at all..
probably the coolest looking mutation i've ever seen are the scaleless snakes.

I like it.
Not often you see pictures of scaleless animals. I have a few geckos with bald spots or bald all over. Will never move to prove the genetics or go after it as mutations that change up a physical characteristic seem to go overly well in the reptile community.
I was curious to what they feel like. Most of the scaleless snakes i have seen are either puff adders or death adders for whatever reason, though i've seen a few red rats and other species.

My Burmese python pinched a huge loaf last night. She's gotten into a routine of doing #2 only about once a month or so. Normally after she sheds. She's happy and healthy and her breeder says not to worry about it. I kinda wish the balls did that. They poop once a week as long as they eat.
