ya it was fun for how long it lasted, due to some complex stuff between my employer (i work at a dog daycare/boarding facility/ training facility) and the people at the shelter i cant really go back. but either way im at college and next year when i get a car up here i plan on volunteering at a local humane society and doing some obedience training/rehabilitation (what i really want to do).

Bubba:
Loves running after the ball for hours, ****ing with his brother, chasing the laser pointer... basically just has energy for days. I love this dog.


(He LOVES the hose... it's hilarious.)

Forrest:
More of a... *****. He'll get into it with bubba sometimes but he'd rather just cuddle up on the couch all day.

People are so afraid of big dogs because they either don't know how to handle them or are just pussies in general.

I know a pit bull that's scared of pretty much everything and he changed my mind about large breed dogs.

People are stupid.
Small dogs are useless.

This is my roommates puppy Sasha... She's 10 months old and treats snow like crack.

Great thread btw. I convinced my roommate into getting a pitty and its been a great idea. Only problem is he lets her be nippy.

They really are wonderful animals. I've never seen a larger dog cuddle as much as she does. The loyalty statement is completely true as well. She loves everyone more than any dog i have seen... Now if only we could get that boundless energy to stop jumping on guests/the new roommate. She also tends to play a little rough. My roommate (her owner) doesn't like when i reprimand her by crating her for gnawing, but as a pit i find that behavior quite unacceptable. Thoughts?

Hahaha mine does that too. We will throw his snow suit on him and by the time we are home he has a big beard and mustache of snow!

Most pitbulls have a lot of energy normally, I still cant even get luca to really be calm when i get home. But I have developed a ritual with him.

I come home, and he starts bouncing, I walked swiftly to the bedroom, he follows. He jumps onto the bed and I just pat him down completely. By that time, he is relaxed enough to stop the jumping. Maybe there is a way you can train that dog to work like that around people. People at first thinks thats reinforcing the jumping, but its not do to the patting does not take place till he fully lies down onto the bed and looks at me calmly for a few seconds.

The nipping is something im working on myself. Luca does very subtle nips and Half the time i don't even think its his intention to nip. WHen he does, i just hold onto his snout and tell him no a couple times. He will slink off and watch me from the shadows till I tell him its ok, and he is ok. The nipping has gotten less and less frequent now since I starting.

That is really cool! something to do thats worth while. i love training Zoey new things
