I'll be the first to admit that I am a definite cat person, but I love Huskies. If I ever got a dog, I'd want a Husky. Too bad i'm in Texas, I don't think they would do very well here.

Get a Furminator It helps keep the clumping down a lot

shmedley, they do just fine in florida, I wouldn't worry about it unless you plan on leaving him/her outside.

Thanks IRPancake!
No, he has never actually jumped in. Although he absolutely loves water, he actually hates swimming.

If your concern is their thick coat and the heat, don't worry. These dogs are extremely intelligent and know how to beat the heat . I spray mine with the hose (weak setting) on hot days, which he loves. Normally keeps him cool till the sun goes down. As long as you plan on walking him/her, and don't mind a tsunami of fur every once in awhile, I say look into purchasing or adopting one.

jinxd, didn't even see the writing above the pic. Not sure why but it kinda bugs me when people assume all huskies are male. I used to go to the park every single day since I was unemployed, and every single person I talked to, usually a few a day, asked how old 'he' was or other questions about 'him'. Not a huge deal, but got kinda annoying, so I feel like an idiot assuming yours was female lol.

Mine loves water too, but wouldn't jump in. One park that will be close to where I'm moving, has a lake they fenced off the sides so dogs can go swimming. She'll walk into the water, but unless theres a toy out there, she wont get to the point she can't touch bottom. We also used to take her swimming when she was a puppy and she hated the pool, I went to put her on the top step where its really shallow one time and she just started crying, cute but sad lol.

I've given up trying to keep the interior of my car clean. After the park she slobbers all over the dash/windows, dirt all over the seat, even with covers, the center console is a mess, etc. Hopefully picking up an old SUV to cart her around in

No worries IRPancake, most people do assume "male" right off the bat for some reason haha. I suppose it's just the norm .
Yeah, mine is the same exact way. He'll do anything to play in the water (when I'm washing paint off my wall after chronoing/test shooting, he'll sneak up behind me and try to steal the hose). However, he's terrified of actually going in the pool.
Same with the car thing as well D:. We dread having to take him to the vet for his vaccinations. When we get home, the windows are covered in his slober and the seats are always full of fur. On top of that, I have a feeling he want's to try to drive .
Oh well, love my Sib regardless!

Haha. Try driving one in a 2 seater. She always wants to step all over the console, where the emergency flashers and window buttons are conveniently located for her to press.

strange: mine even has girly colored flowers on it, but I guess its hidden under her bushy neck fur lol.

haha I like how the one leaves near the end and then your husky chases

I haven't even been able to take mine to the park. Moved a week and a half ago, then immediately go sick She seems to be adapting to the move well though.

we go to the park just about every day. the pit/boxer is so fast when it comes to fetching balls, my husky doesn't even bother trying She just trolls about the park finding people and pups. : /

Finally got some pics of all our dogs, all are female. We are up to four now, a couple more and we could get a sled team going. I am thinking with all the fur we get we should start making husky thread/yarn

Cassie, our oldest she is 8 and definitely the one in charge.

Jazz and Jersey who are sisters, will be 4 in May.

Our newest edition to the family, Sally on the far right about 4 months.
