Tank reg for a Luxe

Came to my sense and finally bought another luxe. It's not broken in has about 4 cases through it. I currently have a ninja 77/45 tank with a stock reg. I see a lot of people talking about the luxe being LP and I assume I should thus use a LP reg.

1. What benefits do I get for using a LP tank reg on the luxe

2. Is there any harm in using the current reg I have

3. I looked into the Ninja SLP but its operating pressure is ~300-350 and I believe somewhere in this forum people were saying the min operating pressure for a luxe should be in the 400's? Is this reg acceptable at that output or do you Luxe vet's recommend a better reg?

*I checked the Luxe Ultimate Info Thread but didn't catch anything about this. Thanks

**I plan on getting Lurker's Luxe bolt if that helps in answering any of this or if his bolt is going to require LP for optimal results.

Thanks!

It runs best at mid pressure. 550 psi is recommended. I have a smp reg and a pro reg set to 550. I run my 2.0 and sl8r on them with no issues.

Both are ninja regs? Does anyone use a SLP?

The 'stock' Ninja reg is adjustable. Unscrew the bonnet (while tank is empty) and remove the thick shims. That'll put you in the ~550 range. Don't need to buy a new reg.

SLP can cause shoot down issues at higher rates of fire. LP (450) is pretty much ok unless you are shooting at very very high rates of fire. 550 is the ideal output though.

People use LP but you can experience shoot down. MP is what people are saying is ideal, ninja makes a smp reg too. I've always used a pro reg at standard output and my markers never had a issue. I actually believe Kornbred did a test and its on youtube....

I use an slp which I plan on replacing soon. But it's fine at 12.5. I feel like it would start to drop at any higher rof.

About 550 is advertised what you want to keep it at. Some people say slp's will run but to stay safe I'd try to get it to 550. I used to run my luxes on high pressure and a couple months ago switched to 550 (ninja pro reg with 1 shim) and haven't really noticed a difference. I did however, use my crossfire lp reg which is at 450, for a weekend and got shoot down a couple of times which is why i pushed it up to 550.

Both are Ninja regs and like they are saying, I had a slp reg once and had bad shoot down at high rates of fire. It did fine on single shots just not high rates of fire.
