DOOM
Wolfenstein
Duke Nukem
Quake. Both NQ/QW
Diablo

All on dailup....

The UO came out and ruined everything. I could never get in to it, but I know a lot of people that did. MMORPGs are just boring to me.

Pretty much.

At the age of 9-11 I used to play Diablo 2 religiously. I would wake up at 6am every morning when my brother had to get up for High School and play until I had to leave for elementary school around 11am. Then when I got home I would play until I had to go to sleep around 9 or 10 at night I lived, ate and breathed Diablo.

This is just a nostalgic circle jerk. Everyone is just listing games that they played when they were in the prime of their lives whether it be the 80's early 90's or late 90's to today.

I cut my teeth on Mario Bros. when I was 4, lost whole weeks of my life to Counterstrike Beta 1.4 (I think) in high school, and I still get ridiculously excited for future games today. Maybe even more so than before.

Anyone complaining about all the shooter clones out today, and how there is no innovation forgets about the shelves full of license tie-in side-scrollers of the NES, and the Doom Clones on the PC.

I don't know if you can tie down a true "Golden Age" of games, maybe a personal favorite era.

1) start post by calling the thread a circle jerk
2) Go on to say the same thing that's been said a dozen times in the thread already.
