Okay any game that has jazz as a part of its soundtrack is automatically badass in my book. I'd have to say Metal Gear Solid's almost entire series has got the best soundtrack of any games I've played.
For me, if a soundtrack fits really well with the game's universe, then I love it.
- Silent Hill soundtracks always have this great eerie quality that fit so well with the game.
- Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate
- Grim Fandango
Honorable mentions would go to the Halo games, Resident Evil 2, Homeworld, Metal Gear Solid, Morrowind, and Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.
