Greatest Soundtracks in Gaming History

What are everyone's favorites?

Personally I have ACII and AC:Brotherhood's soundtracks in full in my itunes.

The Final Fantasy games (VII forward) are pretty epic. My 4yr old falls asleep nightly to the music (piano versions) of FF VII and X.

Oh, and some of the music in HALO: Reach is Bungie's best.

I liked GuildWars' soundtrack but maybe more because of Nostalgia now than anything.

I have a few of their soundtracks. They put me straight to sleep

I really liked Modern Warfare 2's soundtrack. It's the first game where I listened to the music outside of the game.

As far as GTA's are concerned. I guess you can say they're a "soundtrack" to the game, but when I think of a soundtrack I think of original scores composed by a composer strictly for the game (such as Hans Zimmer for MW2).

Well it hardly counts as a soundtrack since it's all MIDI stuff, but I really liked the sequences in Metroid Prime.

Many of the scores from Mass Effect 2 are very good as well.

Obligatory Galaxy Map music:

I also really enjoyed the music from Windwaker

Call me crazy, I liked the music on A Shooter for 2 bucks. I think there is only like two or three songs but it sounds like cheesy NES era stuff, which I like. Also, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World for the same reason. For an older game, I've always loved Starcraft's music. I was really happy when they included remixes of the old music in Starcraft 2.

Even though its all old music Fallout 3 has some really catchy songs. The sound track is one of about a million reasons why I love the game.
