Ok so I just picked up a PS3 for my bedroom because I wanted something that could stream Netflix and I got a good deal on a used 120 slim. I'm looking for some of the must have games for the system that I should pick up. I'm mainly looking for PS3 exclusives because any multi-platform game I get will most likely be on my Xbox as thats where my friends are and I prefer the Xbox controller. Anyway, what do you think I should get? What are your favorites? I'm an equal opportunity gamer so any genre is fine with me, though I don't usually like JRPG's in the vein of Final Fantasy, what with all the grinding. However if there are new JRPG's out there that do something a little differently and have a good story, let me know.

I actually borrowed MGS4 from a friend and played it for a couple of hours but wasn't really feeling it. I intentionally left it off the list to see if other people suggested it. Maybe I'll give it another shot sometime.

Killzone 3, in about a month

My list: (I'm not filtering out multi-platform games so you'll just have to deal with it)
-MGS4 - Hit or miss, you either love it or hate it. I loved it.
-God of War Collection - Play the first 2 before:
-God of War 3 - Easily the best brawler on PS3
-Heavy Rain - I couldn't play it more than once, but that 1 time was more than worth the price of admission
-Little Big Planet - Nothing but fun
-Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - Fun singleplayer and insanely awesome multiplayer
-Dragon Age: Origins - Great RPG, tons of fun and a long journey
-Borderlands - Diablo with guns, and the DLC packs are awesome too
-Ghostbusters - Highly underrated game.

Those are my favorite PS3 games.

Post in the PS3 thread next time, but all the PS3 exclusive titles are great.

I'd buy Uncharted 1 and 2, God of War 3, and InFamous. I'd rent Heavy Rain, I'd only buy Little Big Planet if you play socially with friends and family, and then there's Killzone 2 which is probably best FPS on PS3.

MGS4 is a must own if you are a Playstation fan at all from the past.










out of your list - I'd go head and buy or at least rent InFAMOUS - it's a really good game.

The story is actually really cool for a videogame. Dumbest story ever would be every battlefield game ever made, assassin's creed or COD:black ops.

Resistance games are badass and a 3rd one is supposed to be coming out this year if I remember correctly.

Infamous is the only one I'd add to your original list.

I've heard AC: Brotherhood is solid for the PS3 since they designed it side by side w/ the XB360 version this time instead of porting it after which resulted in some bugs w/ AC/AC2.
