I agree with Chris, keep it the original 4:6 ratio like the photo Gods intended.

Oh, I thought you meant the fact he was cropping in general, kid, I barely crop a thing and good paintball photography is not about getting the entire body in the frame, it's about how the body looks in the frame, learn to photograph well.

i didn't mention that, but yea, i agree with you. lock the aspect ratio at 4:6, or 5:7, but keep it locked on one thing or another.
and no, part of good composition is an even horizon and 1/3 body crop, or full body crop. anything else has too much negative space, or is distracting to the eye because the subject has a non-organic shape.

I am going to disagree with you. While there are certain "rules" with photography that are great guidelines to follow, they're just that...Guidelines. Photography is an art and is meant to be explored, so while there may be things that are technically wrong, it can still make for a great photo.

as shown in the photos carl posted.. experimenting is fine, and i not only support it, i do it.
i did not hold back on saying he did a great job with a majority of his photos, and i only recommended he look into not cropping the ends of barrels and feet/elbows.

it's all good, i don't know much about photography besides the pictures i look at and the things i read in the photomob thread. i've photographed a total of what.. 3 practices and 1 event? ahaha. i take back what i said originally, i'm in no place to critique photographers who have been around much longer than myself.
