My friend stripped the threads on his Geo and it's permanently stuck together try this (not sure if it's stated in the methods as I haven't read them to be honest): put on a pair of rubber/leather gloves and twist for extra grip. Just a suggestions and again I own a Geo so I don't lurk this forum much so I haven't read the previous methods

Seeing as you have one feedback im guessing your new. The shaft barrels are reverse threaded. Im just saying because some ppl forget my last geo this guy put vice grips on the barrel to take it apart but he was turning it the wrong way...

There's a few things you can do:

Take two strap wrenchs and twist your barrel off.

For leverage, put one end of the barrel in a rubber vice or wrap it in rubber if vice is all metal. Use strap wrench to push/twist the other half off.

My friend had this problem with TWO of his ego's. I think it's gotta be a design flaw. Here's what you can do:

1. Get two very strong people, twist, twist, twist.
2. Run it under very hot watter, dry it off, twist, twist, twist.
3. Cover it with a cloth and wrench it.

What we did to fix my teammates was run it under boiling water and then immediately take both of our 100% strengths and twist on each side.

REMEMBER: once you have gotten it apart, re-place and/or lube the orings to make sure it doesn't happen agian.

There's your problem.
I would think heating it up would be best, With heat metal expands.

And that means what to me?

I posted just to help I dont know what type of knowledge he has towards paintball I just said theyre reverse threaded. I wasnt being rude or anything just that some ppl get a marker and dont know a lot about it. For all I know he could be 14 yrs old and not know what hes doing. Obviously he doesnt since he got his barrel stuck...

Like other have stated used the hot water method.... but what they are also forgetting is that heat will expand the metal so soak the barrel in hot water for about 3 min.... immediately place the barrel in ice cold water and it should do the trick. It worked for mine.

If you tried using a strap wrench and/or vice and it didn't come apart you either need to find someone with muscle (this is not intended to be insulting) or you are kinda SOL. Try heating it up then putting it in the vice for grip. I've never had a barrel I couldn't get unstuck. Some were harder than others, but they do come apart, even if it somehow got crossthreaded.

First, just because he got his barrel stuck doesn't mean he is new. The same thing happened to my ego barrel twice and I've been around a long time. Sometimes stuff just happens to people. So, please do not use PBN or someones feedback as a basis for how experienced they are in paintball. It's poor evidence.

Now, onto what matters. The same this happened to my barrel and I tried al the same things that are being suggested. I ended up having to take it to my shop and we had to use a vice to hold it in place and get it off. Once you do, make sure you lubricate the oring on the barrel before you play with it. Maybe even take the tip off when you are on break from playing and reapply the lube. Good luck to you.

Hot water, rubber gloves, give it a firm smack into the palm of your hands to knock the threads loose, etc.

I say the two people trick is the best choice, if you wanna try the hot water stuff get a boiling half gallon and start pouring down the front piece of the barrel only, next to the threads, with the barrel over and close to a big bowl or something to collect the water you are throwing at it and to protect the two guys twisting... Metal conducts heat pretty fast and unless the heat is on it the hot water won't help much.
This might not have happened because you did something wrong... sometimes the o-ring on the threads just get out of place and get in between the threads, which prevents you from unscrewing easily. Most of the parts will come properly lubed from factory but after some months sitting in shelves natural dusts will dry out the lubes and originate leaks and other problems with o-rings, including this one... The o-ring on the front part of the barrel back should always be very well lubed with DOW55 grease.

It's a bit strange why they've carried on with the reverse thread thing on their barrells, it was a good idea when the problem was there but now?

Have you tried simply screwing the barrel into the marker, gripping the marker in one hand, gripping the very tip of barrel front in the other, and turning the barrel tip clock-wise (as if you are tightening the barrel back into the marker?

By gripping the barrel at the furthest points, it should allow the center of the barrel to twist and flex just enough to break the seal - you really shouldn't have to crank down too much to get it apart.

Now, it's worth being cautious though, and whilst I've never seen it happen, I'm sure it could damage the threads in the marker and/or barrel back - so I wouldn't recommend that you do this for anything other than a last resort.

Alternatively, if you have access to a crappy old cocker threaded marker, you could do it in that instead of your ego.

I used the dishwasher to get mine apart. Washed it and removed it as soon as the dishwasher stopped and the barrel was very hot. I put on some gloves and it was so easy to turn
