45 mph or so, keep it out of OD, avoid heavy traffic. Never had a problem and he has been doing that for at least 20 years in various trucks. Like I said, its stupid, but it works. I keep telling him to get some heavier duty tires for the rear.

He's crazy to do that without a 7.3 IDI.

You're right, but only because the IDI came in at least a 3/4 ton chassis.

with the amount of fuel being dumped into the engine, it's REALLY hard to get enough air into the cylinders without lifting head studs and blowing lots of other stuff to make it blow no smoke

More complete combustion, more exhaust volume, more power and exhaust gases, more velocity and volume, maximum boost.

You'll have to define what blowing smoke is. Considering that diesel fuel burns dirty, they're always going to blow smoke. The difference is with a good tune the exhaust goes grey because the fuel is actually being burned. It wont be the thick black smoke that comes with retardedly excessive amounts of fuel.

That's cute, next time I go work with my grandpa in Montana over the summer I'll snap a pick of us hauling loads of wood twice that size in his c20.

Dirty hillbillys that own a 50+ thousand dollar truck that makes 3 times as much power then any vehicle that you'll ever own.
