Orings

Ok I've read so much on oring types and what to use it's not making sense anymore. Please clarify for me and everyone else.

I have a stock bolt, can and guide. What type of orings should I use? (urethane buna or whatever)

I also have a complete ndz setup polished by pooty. What type of orings should I use?

Thanks ahead guys 

Hear ya go.

Urethane orings run loose (clear orings)
Green orings run medium tight
Black orings run all over the place. Most run medium tight to tight.

It's not really about what color to use. The urethane orings and green orings are said to last longer.

In non moving parts like the outside of the can and rear bolt guide oring you can use anything you want.

In a stock luxe power core I would use urethane orings if your parts fit tight together. If they fit loose then black orings or green ones.

In a polished ndz system only black orings and some green orings work. Urethane orings hardly ever seal on a polished bolt.

So don't look at the oring makeup. Look at how the oring needed feels when in contact with the opposing part.

Watch my oring fitment video to get a demo of what I spoke of above.

Correction pooty, green orings are a medium to tight fit. They seal the best but last the least amount of time.

Nope they don't seal the best. I have more then 40 of the green orings that were taken out of stock cans that are too loose. Even brand new ones run medium fitment most of the time. I have worked on more then 300 luxe power cores. I think I know my orings by now....

"The green o-rings that show up in SP and occasionally other guns are made from a material known as Therban. This material is chemically similar to Buna, except the materials are hydrogenized (addition of hydrogen). The resulting material tends to hold up longer than urethane or buna, while maintaining the same durometer as the lower-quality Buna rings. Although significantly more expensive, ideally this is the most long-lasting o-ring type available due to the long tolerances"

Above from the below link. Great info for orings

The reason I ask is because in ur vid ur fitting polished parts and u state that stock parts need to be fitted another way. Unless i misunderstood the vid. I'll give them another watch.(would u say the therban is the best to use if it fits the best?)

I've found SFT Orings to be a bit more loose than urethanes in my experience.

One of the other great side effects of polished parts is the ability to use other types of orings and find a fit much easier. With stock parts I would be looking to use urethane orings because they run larger. But those are not cheap. Even I have a hard time finding the perfect orings for stock parts and the cost for a bunch of urethane orings can be much higher then the cost to polish those parts. If the green orings fit the best use those.
