You need to remove the solenoid to see if there are small black plugs in the solenoid. Those are the planks. Let me know if you have them prior to any assistance.

Yes, that are the planks. What was the original issue?

the original issue is that the gun is shooting very inconsistent, trying to set the gun between 275 and 280, the first shot will always be in the 290's while the next 5-7 are good then i get a low one in the 260'sm sometimes 250's.what settings should i use to correct this? i'm shooting an SL94 i recently picked up.

Try moving the Etek's bolt. Is it air locked in place?

275 - 280 consistently is unrealistic. Shooting 265-280 is much more. I would swap out the #10 oring inside teh LPR body. Figure 11.7 on page 59. There is a small oring inside where the q-tip is shown.
Replace teh battery. Clean and properly lubricate the marker.
Up the dwell to 11. LPR should be at 1 turn in from flush.
Also, whenever chronographing you want the barrel tip about 2 inches higher then the back of the marker. I personally try to use Marballizer. The more consistent the ball, the more consistent the velocity. If you use an over sized barrel the velocity will fluctuate more. There will be air escaping around the ball. Try to get a good paint/barrel match for the best results.
You should shoot three clearing shorts prior to checking the velocity consistency.

Have you chronied the marker?
ASA On/Off knob turned in to far? When you add your air system to the gun you want to turn the knob until you hear the initial gas transfer. Do not turn it more then one complete turn more or you will actually restrict the airflow coming out of your air system.

If you are sure air is leaving your tank, you need to see if its getting thru the inline. If so, it is the LPR. If not, it is the inline.
Are you sure you can hear the air transfer out of your tank? You may have lost your insert which is fitted in teh ASA. Look into the back of it where the tank threads in. Make sure it is there.

I recently picked up a Geo with about 30 cases in it. What should the dwell be set at? And any tips or tricks for maximum smoothness?

11 if it is stock.
14 if its got the ST kit.
You can go up on the dwell by up to 1ms .
Adding the ST kit will give you a smoother shot but simply keeping the gun lubricated more often will do wonders. I usually recommend every other time for best results.
