How to make the CFOA better?

Seems like it's a little down in here.... and we don't want the only tournament series around here to die out.

So what do you think would make the CFOA better?

introduce some sort of clinic between events and have the players have organized practices around these to prepare for the next event/layout. give them something to focus on and progress for the next event. just an off the wall idea. I know the MiLP and MSXL have most of the southeast D4-D3 teams for rmore xball style play now but I remember when we would travel 15 + people to a CFOA 8 hours away for it.

I can't access the website right now, but more up to date info for events on the site would be nice. Also, for the one cfoa I did play this year, I noticed the event wasn't posted for registration on appa until about 2 weeks before the event. I feel like more teams would sign up if registration were to open sooner.

^^opening registration earlier won't get more teams.
Though having access to someone from the cfoa to answer questions would be a good place to start.
Facebook questions don't get answered. Pbnation questions certainly get overlooked.

Special event for the cfoa is supposed to be nov9, but zero info has been posted.
Can't plan to play if cfoa won't answer any questions.

Simply put, if the CFOA ran their events like the MiLP and worked the schedules to not collide with other tournament series, they would gain a lot of business.

D3 xball, D4 xball, D4 5 man, D5 5 man.

They are missing out on a lot of local teams because they don't run D3 anymore. I understand attendance sucked years before, but I'm sure there was a logical reason for that. The MiLP doesn't seem to be too short on D3 teams.

Not hate bashing the CFOA either. I would love to see it grow so the locals don't have to drive 5-8 hours to play a regional tournament.

•Communication, again. It is non existent it seems.
•Announce layouts so we are able to practice them.
•Paint prices are $55+ tax, can prepay in advanced for less?
•Referees that don't mind being there. If we are an inconvienence we won't come.

We had a lot of issues this year, mainly due to lack of communication. Field seemed to be bothered by having the tournament. A lot of people are switching to MiLP next season and traveling to PSP events because of the "lack of fun" at the CFOA events.

I know, but we showed up for 2 consecutive events and they moved bunkers around for the fun of it.

I just remember watching the D2 xball events for CFOA and really seeing the talent. With MiLP and other series it's all flashy gear D4 teams. Talk up the idea of bringing a real Xball style back or something to attract the D3-2 scene

As long as you look agg you will play good right???

It would be nice to get higher ranked players back in the CFOA to help attendance. The hybrid division they had this year was a start, hopefully soon d3 teams will be able to play together instead of having to get picked up by teams due to the point system.

Doesn't seem like you're very well informed. Layouts were out weeks in advance. Paint prices are pretty average for non-national level events. BYOP is also an option provided the paint comes from CFOA sponsors. 98% of the referees have been doing CFOA for 3+ seasons and return because we like being there. In fact, you've got a pretty experienced referee crew within the CFOA.

I was unable to attend, but I heard the event up at Tiger was quite a party.

Communication can't really be argued against.

MiLP can't handle any more teams than they have now. Literally. Can not. Will may say he can, but he can't. He doesn't have enough referees, space, or time in a day to do so.

The Tiger event was a fun one. The rest of the events, there was always a problem. Reffing was the biggest issue. Not saying all refs were bad. But there were quite a few that didn't seem to understand what they were supposed to do.

As far as the MiLP not being able to handle anymore teams, I don't see that being the case. It seems they have handled everything quite well. It also seems they are trying to attract more and grow the league. Saw they had a booth setup at World Cup.

The CFOA is trying. I give it that. After talking with Brian R. at the last cfoa event, I feel like next year may be better.

Solid input everyone, also know that I have nothing to do with cfoa. I just want to see it do well.

Add one thing you would change about the event and one thing you like about cfoa.

I love the venues we got to play at this year. Going to Virginia and Charleston was a nice change of scenery and minus the difference in fields at Charleston both events were my favorite this year.

I'd like to see communication worked on. People still don't know what the special event is and it's 2 weeks or so away. PBN questions aren't answered and it's like pulling teeth to get a Facebook response sometimes.

Also X-Ball would be great to see in higher divisions. That's why a lot of teams have left is because there is only 5-man options even in the hybrid division.

I was told Saturday that the special event on Nov 8th & 9th will be moved to the weekend after or two weeks after because a majority of players and refs want be able to make it. If this is true could we get a confirmation on this so the teams that are going can make plans to actually be able to go.

The one thing I don't like about the CFOA is communication because there isn't any from my experience with trying to talk to them.

Moving it back doesn't surprise me. Fulda Gap is that weekend and most of the staff and many of our players attend Fulda Gap every year.
