Geo First shot Drop Off too long

So I air up my Geo. And instead of being able to shoot, I have to pull the trigger at least 10 times before enough air is needed to push the ball forward. It is releasing air, just not nearly enough.

Setup:

Geo+
Dwell= 14.5
Everything Else is stock
Ninja 68/45

Any ideas on whats up? Thanks.

Is the solenoid actually clicking?

What is your velocity set to?

Is anything else happening when the marker doesn't fire? Is air being vented by the solenoid for instance?

Hey guys. I am seeing the same thing with may geo2. I don't know if it just may be the cold right now as we play all year and this is my first geo. We played today and it was 30 degrees out. Guys any word or thoughts on firstshot drop off

Yes the solenoid is clicking. Velocity is at 285.

When its not firing, it kind of sounds like when it is on training mode, just a little louder.

I do not believe it is being vented by the solenoid.

Thanks for the quick response!!!

Right, if the solenoid isn't venting any air, this could indicate that the solenoid is the problem.

As you are probably aware, air from the solenoid holds the bolt back against the air pressure in the firing chamber. When the solenoid switches, the air holding the bolt back is released, allowing the air in the firing chamber to push the bolt forwards, at which point the air in the firing chamber is released and the marker fires.

If there is no air released from the solenoid, then the marker can't fire. So if no air is being released, it suggests that despite the solenoid clicking, it isn't actually actuating.

Are you using a low or high pressure tank?

Yea, noid is almost definitely your problem. As a possible save a ****laod of time fix and as stupid as this may sound, try putting on a bit more lube than however much your using now. My geo2 had terrible bolt stick because I had cleaned my gun thinking I was done and decided to get back into a game before I left so I lubed it quick and didn't put enough on there. It took about 5-10 shots before it was shooting at full velocity, just as yours is.

I almost think it's impossible to under lube a Geo2.

My marker was doing the same as the OP and after watching Jack on You Tube and really paying attention to what I was doing I discovered I myself was using to much lube. I try and make them look just wet instead of soaking it on like I use to lube Shockers....been 4 cases now and it fixed my problem

Tank is set at high pressure.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I will try lubing it more and see how that goes.

Though one thing, this only happens sometimes. What would be the reason for that. It happened last time I played (last weekend), yesterday, and today. But when I air it up right now, after now having it out, it doesn't happen. Why might this be??

Thanks for all the help guys. Really appreciate it

I've noticed the GEO2 needing a pretty heavy amount of lube. When I first got it, I shot 5000+ shots out in my backyard. Kept one pod leftover for my dad to shoot when he got home. Since he was *****ing to me everyday because he though the gun was a waste of money. So I lubed it up for when he got home. I took it out back for him to shoot that night and the bolt would barely cycle. So I went to play the next day and gave it to the tech at the field and he just slabbed a ****load of lube on it and handed it back to me. Same thing happened to my friends GEO2, just without the *****y dad. So yea, its possible

What is the temp. When your playing? It's not doing it when you have inside your warm home? It all points to excess grease and stiction to me.

If you have the ability watch Jack Wood on you tube Eclipsetv and watch him lube his bolt. Your symptoms sound just like mine and after watching his video I have no more problems

Plz keep us informed as to what you find to be the solution

Thanks guys. I was actually shooting out of my house door so it was currently warm.

I watched that video and then lubed it, and have probably shot a case through it since then (one scrimmage).

I will see if I have time tonight to take it apart and lube it.

Thanks.

It could be the 14x2 o-ring on the bolt. That is the rear-most one. Make sure it is actually a 14x2 on there and not a #15 by mistake.

Pull the bolt out of the can, flip it around, and slide it back into the can and see if the 14x2 o-ring grips the inside of the can. If the o-ring barely touches the inside of the can, there is the problem. It should be a snug fit from the o-ring to the inside of the can.

Try changing the battery ive heard of a few new markers having the supplied battery discharge after only one or two cases. Something to do with the batteries self life running out due to it sitting waiting to go in a new marker box and then that marker sitting in a shop till it sells

Another thing to consider is that a virtually brand new marker may just need some time to bed in. Spool valves can have issues with the cold as it is - a cold marker that hasn't even worn in yet is likely going to have even more problems.
