I was mobbing down a straight on GMR with two buddies going 40mph+; they were both ahead of me and i was about 5-10ft behind them. The friend in second went to pass the friend in first, and in the process the two clipped wheels and both went down. I had zero time to shut down or really do anything, so I did my best at trying not to hit anyone but they were sprawled all over the road and I ended up running over one of their boards. I basically went STRAIGHT down from there with a pretty good impact, and dislocated my shoulder (it was an anterior dislocation which is very hard to do).
Unfortunately I suffered an avulsion fracture as a result of the dislocation, which basically means at the moment of impact my rotator cuff tore a piece of my shoulder bone off from the rest of the bone. Thankfully its an injury that will heal on its own without surgery, but i've been out a little over a month already and probably have another month to go before I'm close to full strength. I've been in a sling since it happened, but thankfully next week I get to start physical therapy so things will hopefully start getting back to normal.
Its mainly just sucky because the crash was absolutely not my fault and there is nothing I could have done to stop it, yet I'm the one who got hurt badly. Both of my buddies walked away with minor bumps and scrapes. Sitting out sucks, but I'll be back on a board soon enough.

Those injuries when you go from full speed to zero are always the most dangerous. I ruptured a kidney that way.

Liam can get down just about any hill without putting a puck down, but in race situations you better believe he gets down and dirty with everyone else.
Had my first real session since my injury today. Took it mad chill and didnt put my right hand down at all, I'm a bit scared since the arm is still pretty weak. I've gotten a good portion of my mobility back though so as long as I'm careful I can still get out and spend some time on the board. Hopefully I'll have my strength back soon.

Nice little edit. There are more downhill riders in the video than my whole area even has. Did that guy hit the car or what?

I don't have my own board but a lot of my friends do and I ride with them sometimes. But these are the sickest boards I've ever seen.

There were like 4-5 people who banged into a car that stopped right at the exit of a corner. I came through right after them and could see some of the carnage. Everyone was ok and walked away with just some bumps and bruises.

Newest trend? Within the downhill community, double kicks and skating everything. But to the average person, loaded is still probably "top of the line." (although they do actually make good stuff, just are primarily not downhill-oriented)

I would say Sector 9, but then my opinion is completely biased lol.
I'm just starting out in the downhill scene looking to do a few races next year.

I love my bombsquad, but I'm also bias. For downhill, it's mostly personal preference on the deck between many of the different shapes. Just be sure to get something stiff. I personally ride a Bombsquad agent orange for dh.

not that it matters, but aren't you from Chicago or somewhere on the east coast? What brings you here to Cali? I've also watched a few of your videos/mixes. Great work.
That photo you got is sick. Props.
