found a big crack in my zig zags the other day so i deemed them unsafe. i would hate to have a wheel explode on me in a parking garage. i suppose about 3 years is a pretty good amount of time to get out of 78a's though.

Ride em till they die! haha seriously though three years is a long while if you use them a decent amount, especially on softer wheels. I'm currently using a set of retro classic thane bigzigs for my race wheels. You hit a predrift with these and it sounds like a mac truck sliding on dry pavement.
Edit: surge I wish they were, it was funny though a crossing guard lady in green told us to stop and the crowd on both sides of the street booed her.
Hey guys thought this would be a good place to ask a few questions. I live on oahu in hawaii and am interested in getting into downhilling. I live on a hill and know many other hills to bomb here. Just looking for a few suggestions on what board to get. Looking for something to bomb hills, slide, and cruise (transportaion to school and what not)
Boards i was looking at were the Landyachtz Wolf Shark, Drop Speed, Switchblade, and the EVo. Any suggestions?
Any help is appreciated. Mahalo

Really any stiff board is good for DH. Landyachtz makes great boards, but some other companies you might want to look at for nice affordable downhill decks are Earthwing, Comet, and Sector 9 Downhill Division decks.
Switchblade could be a good board for what you're looking for, given you put in the right bushings/wheels.You should look into some of those companies too, I like earthwing myself.
So my sector 9 is basically dead. The front is smashed flat as ever, grip is scratched in several places, the back end is splitting into two boards, and my wheel is falling off where the bearing comes off so in order to fight it I have to take left turns all the time. Lord knows how I've managed to continue to ride it. So my next board may be one of these Loyal Dean but want some input. The model I'm looking at is the bomber. Thanks http://loyaldean.myshopify.com/
could be a bad spacer or a bad core in your wheel.

Those boards look pretty, but they are very expensive and probably arent great performance wise. They dont look to have any concave which is a problem for any serious riding.
very sick board. DH division decks are so nice, I really want an annika. Also, I have those exact wheels as my main freeride/everything wheel right now. Love em
I'm getting the hang of sliding! It's pretty exciting to be doing something that isn't just carving. Although, I have absolutely nothing against it. I was just getting tired of not doing anything else.
