It's simple, easy, and I can pick it up for twenty minutes after studying for however long and accomplish the same things as if I would spend two hours on it.

understandable since you never played the first MW

Once you get into competitive gaming, fps takes over your life. I think I played source for almost 5 years on-off.

The entire Quake series -- Quake 1, Quake: Team Fortress, Quake 2, Quake 3, Quake Live, and all the mods in between. The only game that will ever compare to that franchise is Counter Strike, which I also played a fair bit from when it was released until a couple years into 1.6.
I have played all the aforementioned games competitively (and most of them professionally) as well.

I did a few months before Mw2 came out. I found it annoying as ****. Helicopters would get you more helicopters, grenades were so powerful, and the hit detection/bullet register was never good for me.

I'm sure there's people with at least a thousand cumulative days played on WoW. At least.

I find this hard to believe, I know there are some crazy players out there, but playing for nearly 12 hours a day, every day since launch?
Nah.

In recent years- COD4, its still my main multiplayer game.
Super Smash Brothers, Goldeneye and NHL99 got ridiculous gameplay from me years ago. Tie Fighter FTW

MOHAA I think, I played that game for a loooooong *** time, it made me teh pro at shooters. I wish I could go back in time just to play it again. Spent a good amount of time on CoD1 also, and SC1 (but mostly UMS games).

Tribes and T2 were so sick! Oh and CS from the first release beta, god that **** was ghetto. Newer games like TF2 are really fun too, that gets most of my time now.

my original list:
counterstrike
gunz
wow
but i feel i need to add a second. those 3 are all multiplayer offering vast amounts of replayability since you have a community. but i probably clocked almost as much time on legend of zelda: ocarina of time as i have on any of those games. I wasted years of my life discovering little east eggs and glitching and trying to beat the game with different parameters and such.
