Probably in this order: WoW, SOCOM II, Diablo 2/LoD

(and if you want to count a series, then FIFA probably tops D2 and SOCOM)

CODMW 1&2, pokemon red, fable 2, and duke nukem. I know the first one is very common but I love them.

1. Not a big fan of paying monthly for games, no matter the price

2. I don't like the style of game play. I'm big into sci-fi and fantasy games, but I like them to be more action based. It's hard to explain, but I'm not a big fan of "lets go on a quest," even if it's action based.

3. I know there is PVP, which is more interesting to me, but to get to a level where I could compete with players, I'd have ALOT of catching up to do, and would have to go through the style I don't like to get to it. (Please correct me if I'm wrong).

I play Leauge of Legends, and I like that set up of getting into the action with the fantasy based charter. Not to mention it's totally free lol

Not as hard as you might imagine man. The game is INFINITELY less time consuming than it used to be. If the game was always the way it is now it wouldn't have the same reputation (imo...).

Maybe I'm thinking there is much more that needs to be done to catch up.

Is WoW still expanding like crazy?
I do give it credit for saving and bringing PC gaming up where it should be. You just can't play a WoW style game on a console.

I'll probably get a bunch of pretentious sixteen year olds laughing at me for this, but MW2.

WaW was the first game I ever played multiplayer online (I had a really, really active life by the time online hit consoles), and that started probably six months after it came out. Enter MW2: my newest way of wasting time. I think I'm currently at 23 days or something.

It's simple, easy, and I can pick it up for twenty minutes after studying for however long and accomplish the same things as if I would spend two hours on it.

Definetly WoW. I've played since release. After that would prob be MW2. I remember days where me and kids from my town would sit inside all day and play it over the summer.

WoW PvP was only time consuming in Vanilla. It was easier to jump into PvP in TBC than it is now.... (welfare epics all day).

I thought MW2 was a good game tbh (nothing spectacular though). I managed to spend about 100 hours on it with friends. Well worth 60 dollars.

I was never into TBC...sold my account at lvl 64 and didn't look back till Wrath, and I can't imagine it being simpler to "jump into" really. Unless you plan on becoming a hardcore raider, the game is casual as hell now.

Looking at this thread is like nostalgia. I never realized how much of a nerd I was, but ive played nearly every single game mentioned in this thread (besides the MMOs and RPGs)

In no specific order:

Warcraft 3 (Mainly ladder and DotA, with some custom games thrown in there)
Battlefield Series (1942-2142) Hot damn I miss the Desert Combat mod
Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
Command and Conquer: Renegade. If Renegade got remade with a current graphics engine, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I can still remember trying to play in 32 player servers with a dialup connection

Oh ****. I forgot about SSBM. And Tribes 2.

I don't think I've had a game that I could play so deeply and continuously like that in a while. Even Fallout. There was just a vast re-playability in those games.
