Have you experimented with different pickups in your Schecter? I have a $40 card to GC, and they're doing $20 off if you spend $100. I'd be looking at about $70 total for an Air Classic neck and Super Distortion for the bridge, very hard to pass up.
I say **** that, even though they look cool. The intonation has been way way way off on the 2-3 teles I've played. They're all used and at Guitar Center, but still...I don't even know how you would go about setting and maintaining accurate intonation on a 3 saddle.
Now my question: Who here has replaced the pickups in their solid bodies, and what did you switch to? To be painfully specific, I'm wondering what neck pickup to pair with a Super Distortion in the bridge. I want something as sensitive to pick attack as possible without being too hot and out of control. I'm thinking an Air Classic or Norton, but I'm not sure how they'll sound in combination. On a $100+ purchase, I have $65 off with their coupon and the gear replacement cards I have...basically 2 for 1 on pickups.

Gonna mess with it and maybe add chords in parts as well. So far it just sounds like a cool background riff. I'd like to see if my sister and our drummer friend can come up with another guitar and a bass line, as well as some percussion.
Also, after I listened to it a couple times, I thought it sounded like Kirby, hence the dumb name.
Yeah we came to blow your system
GC tricked me again with their coupon deals, those slippery bastards. "Some manufacturers have chosen not to participate in this promotion"
Turns out those manufacturers include Marshall, Dean, Orange, Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Dimarzio, Mesa Boogie, Rickenbacker, Schecter, Vox, and it just keeps going on. Just about everything worth buying is excluded, which means I can't throw my guitar together -.-
LOL. **** GC. Had to argue with a guy because he kept telling a customer that the classic vibe strats will fall apart after a month and that he should go with a higher end model. First guitar buy. Made the dude turn red as ****. Those are decent buys for the money.
Meh. The GC here is quite awesome. I buy a good deal my equipment from them, but leave any electronics/body work to the local shop, Emerald City Guitars.
I frequently shop GC. It's just frustrating from time to time - set up a $600 purchase, then find out their advertised deals don't apply to any of your desired items. It's a matter of waiting for your specific guitar or gear to come on sale and having your cash ready at the right time.
