I'm dying to keep my strat stock but I also have money. Curses. Might put money into my RG because I'm just not inspired to play it anymore. Still has its stock INF pickups. I think the JB in my mustang is gnarly as **** and I'm tempted to buy one for it. I had a craigslist ad up for my RG and I've had offers for people buying it for more than I paid for it, but I just can't let it go.
No idea why I'm posting this but I'm on pbn and itching to talk guitars. Any input? Anyone? I've posted **** on here about my other guitars and got nothing.
I love the look of vintage tweed. How much they askin' for it?
I never even asked. He also had a couple sweet old Marshalls from the 60's-70's. I played through the Orange micro terror, really awesome for what it is. And I was offered a nice sounding VHT combo for $225 brand new. Probably gonna buy it.

Depending on what he plays, I'd recommend a Dimarzio set. Crunchlab/Liquifire
Haven't tried those but all the other Dimarzios I've had - X2N, Tonezone, F.R.E.D. PAF and Supers were great. I'm itching to try their Twand King tele set now.

Those VHTs are actually decent for a Chinese made amp. They have a turret board inside which is easy to work on/mod if you didn't know already.
I dig those VHT's a lot. If I wasn't saving for a Rockerverb, I'd totally buy one. I feel like $225 is a pretty average price though. I'm pretty sure I saw a head and cab for pretty much that exact same price not too long ago.
I don't see the point much in owning multiple low-wattage bedroom amps at the moment though. They're cool, but I know they'll pretty much never leave my house. I'm sure I'll change my mind once I have my Orange in my possession and am looking to blow my money on something else.
Debating on what kind of cab I should get though. Think I can get away with my Tonemaster 4x12" w/ V30's for awhile? Ideally I'd like an Orange cab or a custom built Avatar but that's another $800 I don't feel like saving up for. And I'm still not sure if I should stick to a closed back or switch to an open. If anything, I could just sell the Tonemaster as I only really have it for my Mercury, and I'm pretty certain that thing will sound beastly through just about anything.
Current GAS list:
Pretty much my ideal setup at this point, coupled with the stuff I already own (and the fixing of my vintage DMM). I think that rig would sound pretty ****ing badass. Only thing I'm not really sure about is a wah. I feel the envelope filter with an expression pedal would probably be more versatile in the long run, but I'm just really not sure. Also, I love that those Les Paul Studio Faded's are only $670 right now. That's a HELL of a deal for a GREAT guitar. I'm considering flipping sometime just to buy one before I never see one that cheap again.

Didn't know. Actually don't know much about the VHT stuff, I just want a tube amp that's not gonna cost a ton, and my friend that runs a music store was telling me they had a bunch of the one particular model and he could sell me one for $225. Gonna be looking into some modding now though, I love to tinker on stuff like that.

I'm really not a fan of the stock INF pickups. What body is your RG, mahogany?
Also what model RG?
Rg5ex1, pretty much an RG370dx with a reverse headstock (yeah that's right, one of the ****ty made indonesian geetars). I still like it. Picked it up mad cheap a while back. Pretty sure it's basswood. Not a fan of the finish though, it's getting shiny spots.
It's my metal guitar. Now it's down half a step but usually have it in C.
That's the thing with pickups though. My guitars I've bought in the past had stock pickups that did it justice. Buying new pups is kinda blinding to me. So many options and I can't just test them out unless I pick up the same model with different pups installed.
Did this awhile ago.. Not perfect but you can hear my tone with the crunchlab/liquifire set.
I absolutely love the way they sound both clean and distorted. I play metal haha. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBFMu5xJw4Y
Did a quick Google search but didn't come up with much, but how compatible are Fender and Squier parts? Will Fender Strat parts work on a Squier, or o I have to seek out actual Squier parts?

Haha I'll have to look into that set. It's just my dicking around guitar anyway. I don't play much of that style anymore. My strat and my mustang with the JB installed gets like 99% of my time. I'm sure the new set will get me back into it though. Thanks for the reply.

I've read that some pick guards aren't compatible across the lines, also the bridges might be different across the Fender USA/MiM and Squire MiI lines.
I need to get mine back soon. I miss it. A lot My buddy's Timeline just isn't doing it for me.
I've been in a bit of a slump with playing lately. Trying to get myself back in to things more recently. Actually been writing a few things again, but nothing has really hit that spot of "holy ****, I love this part" yet.
It's been a while since I've tried tackling a song, so I figured I'd give a go. Wanted something to keep me challenged for a while, so I'm going to do what I can on a 6-string for this
Who wants to loan me an overdrive/fuzz?

I have an album you might like that will get you to try some tackling things,
Middle Eastern influenced, incredible. Some of the vocal parts sound angelic. Some of the riffs make me wonder how someone can be so creative. http://www63.zippyshare.com/v/13211641/file.html
