Reanodizing Aurora
Hello,
I have an ego7 that I would like to re-anodize. only the normal accents and whole trigger frame are aurora. I don't know much about Aurora but can you re-anodize it? also the reason I want to get a different color is because on the trigger frame and eye covers the anodizing is chipping/cracking away(would this affect anything?). I've beat this gun up pretty bad. lol.

There are a select few people who know how to coat aurora, which is not an anno (see this thread for more info on aurora). Of the people who do the coating, ODD is not taking work, as far as I know, and there is one more guy on nation that knows how to do it. Will he do it? I doubt it, and if he does do it, be prepared to spend somewhere in the $2,000 range.

im pretty sure he wants to go from aurora to a regular anno. If thats the case, then most annodizers should be able to do it. I would think it would just be a matter of stripping off the plating that causes the aurora look.

you'd just need someone to strip the aurora, then annodize it.

Oh come on I don't charge 2000 to aurora a gun.
Yes and anodizer can strip it. Now from jack wood you have triple layer hard chrome under it. That's gonna take work from a anodizer it would be easier and more cost efficent to just trade the parts IMO.

I thought the high cost of aurora was due to the high rate at which parts are accidentally destroyed during the process. Might be wrong though.

That used to be the problem with the old aurora. It's science now not electricity.

Now from jack wood you have triple layer hard chrome under it. so if he did my gun I would be screwed, does he do all the ego anodizing? I really dont know who did the aurora on my gun. I thought it was just a ccu kit but ccu's dont include the trigger frame. So I will also be paying more correct because the parts need to be striped?
