I've seen 2 or 3 d3 people on rosters so I would like to know if you can for sure

Rule book says:

* All player’s ranking is based on their APPA ranking unless player is currently playing on a NPPL team that is ranked higher. Only D2, D3, D4 and D5 players will be allowed to participate in the GPL/MAPL Events. Any player that is ranked Pro, Semi-Pro and D1 are not allowed to participate. If a team is found to have a player that is not allowed, the team they are playing on can be disqualified for the event.
** Any Player that has played NPPL Pro or Semi Pro in 2009 or 2010 are not eligible to play. Anything prior, player’s status is based off APPA ranking system
4.05 Inter-Divisional Play. No D4/D5 team may have any D2 or D3 players on it. A D2/D3 team may have D4 or D5 players however those players will risk the chance of being re-ranked in accordance to the New APPA Classification Rule.

Yeah I saw that too. I also was wondering if a D3 NPPL player is allowed to play in the D4/5 MAPL/GPL division.

No D3 players that are ranked D3 in APPA is allowed to play D4/D5.

We try to use NPPL Ranking but however, since APPA does not recognize current NPPL rankings, it is hard to enforce. We go by the ranking that is in the APPA system.
