Hello nation,
Playing in my first tourney in years with my friend who hasn't played a tourney and my uncle who is really actually very good. It's D5/3man so I think this is all fine, but anyway the layout was recently released and they are having us play on a 5man field. Here is the layout:




My main worry is it will be fairly easy to spread our guns out too far. I play by far the most aggressive and will likely be playing the non D-side snake or snake bunkers. (thinking that can looks strong), meaning i'll probably take the dorito before going to the race2 bunker and then blowing up the game.
It seems there is no laning(which is my teammates strong suits) and just 1-2 blind spots to rock out on.

PRETTY MUCH I am just looking for breakout suggestions and anything neat you may have noticed(ie you can almost surely take the center-50 otb if you like)

Actually, I expect to see a lot of people crossing up the back Aztecs and laning hard. I've played a similar layout before and it worked great to lane cross field from the back 2 bunkers and casually trot right up the middle through the blind spots. You can get to the x quite easily with all those center bunkers blocking you out.

What would you think is the best to lane? The Doritos closest to their start box shooting cross? Then should I lane as well or just rng to the dorito? There will be no field walking so trying to get the best possible feel with what I have.

Seeing that the field is completely symmetrical except for the races that replace the mini doritos on one side, all you need to do is decide which bunker you'd rather keep them out of (race vs mini dorito) and shoot it. I would also watch every game you can and shoot a certain side if you know their best player is going there. Not the most honorable tactic but if you kill their star player they're at a disadvantage.

If you're quick, you can shoot between the back mayans and the towers, or you can take the less risky route and shoot between the towers and the pins. Personally I would try to keep the other team out of the towers so they can't trap your guys in the middle. Those big doritos are practically gimme bunkers if you run low. If you're in the big doritos, you shouldn't have a hard time moving up to the mini/race unless they make it into the towers and lock it down.

The best thing you can do is make sure your whole team commits the calls to memory and observe every game possible to figure out what works and what doesn't. Any advice you get here could be worthless if the layout isn't gridded properly or other teams know how to counter it.

That last bit is very true, but it's a PSP affiliate and they are going to strt the setup tomorrow and I trust it will be spot on.
You have pretty much given me everything on my notes list so I'm glad I haven't overlooked anything super obvious.

Which doritos and mayans are you talking about on the layout?
