Organic food?

Idk I think organic food is all bull**** except for whatever you might produce in a back yard garden.

Depends on which organic food you're talking about: Most organic vegetables and fruits are grown with a certain soil that isn't a chemically imbalanced fertilizer or sprayed with pesticides. Organic eggs and chicken are basically chickens fed non-hormone food and kept cageless and open in a field.

organic food actually has diferent standards if it comes from different countries, so its not always exactly "organic"

I think people should buy local produce in general, organic preferred because you lessen the quantity demanded of foods using hormones

It varies, some things are actually organic and some things are labeled organic because they meet some requirements but aren't actually organic. Next thing that needs to be labeled is GMOs.

I think i fixed that for you.

Technically all food that comes from organisms is organic. The only differentiation in the supermarket between "organic" food and food that isn't organic is the requirements they meet to be labeled organic.

Oups, thanks.

But yea, ALL food comes from organisms, the term "organic" is just used to differentiate food that hasn't been heavily tampered with chemicals and other things.

There's a good episode of Bull****! on organic foods, I'd link to it but it has tits in it so you'll just have to google if you want to see it. They do some funny taste tests with organic and non-organic foods and most the people think non-organic tastes better.

Thats cause anything non-organic is either injected with high fructose corn syrup or monosodium glutamate.. and I mean anything and everything

In general it is usually a bit healthier than other things, I'd be glad if I was getting free organic food.

Its mostly bull****, overpriced, hippy bait. However, I will grant an exception to peaches, because I had an organic peach that other day that was so ****ing good. Of course this is in reference to super market stuff. Local food is alright, except our local farmers really made some awful corn this year. The supermarket corn was way better.

Grow a garden, home grown food is awesome.

organic is general means sustainable foods that are not genetically modified or pumped with stuff. go and buy salmon from the store and its a nice bright orange color. and it will stay that way for weeks. its packaged w/ a gas agent that keeps it that color. now buy a whole fresh salmon and see how long it stays orange. its a matter of preference of whether do eat food that is modified wih UN-natural ingredients that will make it last longer. or go the fresh or organic route. you can easily pick out organic they will not be the same size shape color they grow on their own. i work with a lot of fresh organic items. which is highly priced. but people pay for them. micro greens are around $50 a clamshell which we use as a garnish. to me. i wouldnt buy it but people in the restaurant crave over it.
