i am stumped
all,
i am completly stumped with my son's mini...it fires with the puff puff and the balls roll out of the barrel. i have read the stickies and here is what i have done:
1. fresh brand name battery-nothing
2. clean/lube/properly assemble-nothing
3. clean poppet face/replace-nothing
4. all three of my tanks have over 3000 psi- and i have an ndz TSO- so that's not it,
5. i looked at the check valve and the air transfer plate o-ring and they look good
6. reset the stock settings on the board-that's what they were anyway-nada
7. was operating at 180-190 is for pressure- upped it to 200-nada
any ideas? i was thinking of taking the noid apart and giving it a cleaning/lube, but i didn't think it was necessary as it is clicking. need help. thanks.

I would clean the solenoid as well, it won't hurt and I've definitely experienced low FPS caused by the solenoid.

Yeah, off the top of my head, clean the noid. You did not mention how far the back cap is turned out? Swollen poppet o-ring would be my next thing to check.

What lube are you using on the poppet o-ring? Go ahead and try backing out the back cap some more and see if that changes things.

I wouldn't suggest lubing your noid. Some people lube it and I don't understand it. The reason you have to take it apart in the first place is because it's dirty with lube, so why give it a head start by lubing it up after cleaning it? The solenoid piston moves very well inside the housing with no lube in the first place. By cleaning the solenoid, some lube will be left as residue, which is more then sufficient to allow smooth operation of the solenoid.

maybe the detents are dirty and catching or not letting the bolt go forward all the way
cleaning the noid cant hurt either and perhaps try it w/o the NDZ on/off
let us know what you find
thats all I can think off... now my head hurts. lol

If you don't lube the noid, the part will rub together, regardless of how well they slide without it. Friction, when it comes to moving mechanical parts requires lubrication otherwise they will get damaged and you'll most likely ruin your noid.

Please go to this page:
http://www.zdspb.com/tech/invert/disassembly1.html
Almost at the end, it shows how to give maintenance to the solenoid. It does not state to lube the armature, in fact it says "clean it". And I don't understand why you should lube it either. By adding lube, you only help any dirt coming from your tank to stick to the armature, thus speeding the "stick out" problem.
For this problem in particular, besides lubing and replacing orings, check if the bolt slides too tight in the bolt sleeve/bolt chamber. That can create excesive drag and low fps.
Cheers.

make sure you have a screw driver that fits nice on the screw head, you can strip it out very easy.

Try doing a board reset. Setting may have been altered like the dwell.

if you use too much gease on the noid it will accelerate the build up of crud.
if you dont lude you increase wear, might have noid stick, and perhaps slower operation. I use a light silicone spray and clean my noid often so i can have smooth operation and negate as much wear as possible. a clean lubed gun is a happy gun.

I would ask a Kee technnician, really. The only othet way to know if the noid must be lubed or not is to buy a new one and open it. If it has lube, then you have to do it.
I have read mixed comments about lubbing or not. Some say that it helps, other says that it causes the noid to stick after 1 or 2 cases.
Common sense doesn't work all the time in paintball.

I have always lubed my noid, and I get consistancy of +/-0 for 5+ shots in a row. It all depends on the quality of lube, the job you do, and overall maintenance.

hey can you do me a favor and check to see what the dwell is set to, also the pressure the gauge reads when you screw the tank in. cause it sounds like the dwell is to short or your pressure is two low, as when i was messing with my tuning it did just that.

Never lube the Solenoid. If you feel you MUST then lube it and wipe it clean. Whats left is more than enough.
