Can airsoft guns chip your teeth?
I've always heard that airsoft guns can chip teeth if hit in the mouth. Any truth to this at all? I would be interested in playing but the idea of breaking a tooth freaks me out and running around with a mouth guard all day long seems kinda lame.

I do believe it is possible at close range, but just wear a mask. or balaclava.

I was trying to find the huge picture of the guys in Japan who play 450+ fps.
I've been shot in the lip before. It wasn't pleasant. I'm glad I was like 150 feet away.
Found it.
Again, airsoft is AS SAFE AS paintball. Don't be stupid and use common sense.

Head shots happen. In Maine, you have to wear a paintball mask if you are under 18 for that reason.

Just wear a shemagh and you'll be fine. If you can wrap it around your ears too that's good, my friend actually pierced a kids ear in a game because he just tied his shemagh around his neck instead of over his face. Pretty funny ****.

I have seen someone get shot in the arm pit and the bb went in. I am positive that you could chip a tooth. Usually its not going to happen, I have been playing for 3 years now and haven't seen it happen.

Yes they can chip teeth, One of my buddys in highschool found out the hard way from a cheap-o springer pistol. Head shots do happen, and quite often at that. Always wear face protection.

Who ever said head shots dont happen that much think again. Were I play its pretty regular for people to get shot in the face/head but most of us have a full face mask on or a "ski mask" (not sure what there called but they cover your head/face.. ) and we all wear wrap around goggles. And as for the bb chipping your tooth. yes it can happen but its unlikely.

Yes its unlikey in the sense that it probably wont hit your tooth but if it does happen to hit your tooth then it is very likely it will chip. Thats why until I get my new face protection I like to wave myself down instead of yelling hit. The shooter gets the idea that your hit still yet you dont have to worry about a stray bb going in your mouth.

Couple years ago a few friends of mine were playing airsoft in on of their yards. They were all standing around and someones gun went off, bounced off the barrel of anothers gun, and chipped a guys tooth. Pretty freaking ridiculous and funny, but better to be safe than sorry. Always treat ANY gun as a REAL gun. It only takes one second to change your life forever.
I had another friend who was blinded in her eye because her friends were screwing around with an airsoft gun and didn't think it was loaded. PLAY IT SAFE!

pics or shens for this one. enamel is fairly brittle so i doubt it made "a relatively clean" hole instead of shattering the tooth
