tried the demo
it's like a sexy streamlined version of civ that was made more friendly without nerfing it.

If you want any sort of a life, do not buy this game!
It will make you miss classes, miss meals, forget feeding pets, shut off your social life, etc.
DO not buy this game.

It doesn't necessarily make you miss/forget this stuff. You just somehow put everything off because "I HAVE TO FINISH THIS TURN!" I remember playing Civ 4 in the evening, then I look at the clock and it being at least 3 hours later than I thought it was.

im in turn 300 something of an american campaign. This game is FUN! my campaign is in the 1970-1980 range, and i am in roughly second. India is in the lead with 1400 or so "points" most advanced tech most lands, etc. I was down to 2 settlements, and had two major powers of egypt and rome warring me. I staved off egypt BARELY as they were swarming me, lost boston. Fought my way south until i got peace treaties from both of them.
After that I warred rome again, pushed him down to where he had -24 gold income per turn, got some nice cities out of it and called peace. Then I setup an agreement with india and we both warred egypt and have virtually wiped them out. I don't know how I'm going to win though because india is so far ahead in everything.

My first campaign was a defeat  . I went on to take out egypt and rome completely, but by then it was ~1999 and I was 800 points compared to indias 1500. I knew I had to go for india or die trying. I died trying. Hard. |

Im around turn 160 on the one under prince difficulty and I think that i might have to restart cuz im double the points of the 2nd place guy, but I haven't met everyone yet, only civs on my continent.
Seems to easy on the settings I'm on, anyone have suggestions, but not something to kick my *** then drag it around, just something that occasionally challenges me?

I played for several hours today, at around 1500AD. At war with the English, Arabs and I've got another faction pissed off at me as well as a couple city states pissed off/at war.
I love this game.

Im 150 turns in my first civ game ever. Did the earth map on huge. May be a mistake but we will see. Its so addicting. I keep saying a couple more turns then it turns into more and more
