Tank gauge question

i had a tank gauge that broke and it needs replaced, i already unscrewed the old gauge and bought a new one. my questions is should i just screw it in? or get a feild tech or something like that. any help would be appreciated.

if it has thread seal pre applied then you can just screw it in if not a lot of people say a drop of blue locktite before you screw it in will make a good seal but i prefer plumbers putty just don't use Teflon tape if that gets into the gauge or the regulator it can damage it.
