Did I just ruin my reg?

FML.

I was working on my gun yesterday, and I cleaned and re-lubed the reg. after putting it all back together, I just noticed tonight that I did not replace the two small lock screws that need to be removed prior to unscrewing the two halves of the reg internals.

Now I cannot remove my bottom nut, as when i try to unscrew it, the reg screws in half instead. I tried to reach into the reg and hold the lower internals with pliers (with a rag in there for protection) and unscrew it, but i put a lot of torque on it and it wont budge. I can see I'm already chipping the metal in the inside of the reg. I dont want to destroy it.

Please help.

I don't totally understand. So what your saying is that the top part of the reg is on the gun? When you try to take off the cover you unscrew the top of the reg from the bottom and the cover is still between the nut and bottom part of the reg?

Darryl FTW? I wouldn't do too much more, unless your confident in doing so.

Yea, I didnt do a good job of explaining. sorry.

The entire reg is off of the gun. However, when I place the two 3/8 allens in the the top and bottom of the reg and twist, instead of the bottom locking nut coming loose, the reg actually splits down the middle, resulting in the top half of the reg in one hand, and the cover, lower half, and bottom locking nut in the other. Normally, those small screws prevent those two halves from splitting when removing the bottom locking nut.

To make matters worse, My luxe has a custom anno, so I cant just say **** it, give me a new red or black or whatever reg cover and internals. I need that dam cover back.

hmm..

interesting situation you have here, call darryl up. I don't think he cares whether your gun is custom or not honestly.

yea Im going to call him tomorrow. I tried once more with the pliers to unscrew it, and now the piston wont seat into the lower half of the reg

Hey, at least I may get some new reg parts out of it! (tries to stay positive)

and Im not saying he wont help me because I have a non-factory anno. Im just saying if it was a stock color reg cover, we could just scrap the whole thing and get a new one. But because i anno'd it, its going to look retarded without that anno'd reg cover. so we have to get them apart, and then replace the mangled internals lol.
